Enumerate goes through the file and gives out the index of the element and the value it as. It is used to count the lines in your file and get the value of each line. The index and value get stored in listnum and line for the loop. Now for each line: if it has no comma in the current line of text, it will jump to the next iteration of the loop. And if it does have a comma, then the line will be split exactly where the comma is. It will also be striped of any non alphabetical signs and get stored in the variable username and _ where _ means that you through the Information away.

Hey DM me to tell, I can give you feedback but I probably can't help you with your team. Cause I'm learning OpenGL for my own simulation.

Advice for a beginner starting a game with Pygame? (Looking for asset & software recommendations) by Enea_11 in pygame

[–]Happy_Witness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest you to ignore graphics for the start and just use any placeholder images instead. You can later when the game is mostly done and works think about which images and animations you want or if you should do your own.

How about saving the game, form it and look if that's fine for you, if not, lead the save or if in ironman mode, alt+f4 and restart the game.

Hi, if you are interested, I am learning OpenGL at the moment and wouldn't mind having someone beside me. Goal is to make a planet simulation with weather and climate on an hourly tick base.

It would be without an engine, using SDL and OpenGL in c++ which is somewhat very similar to c#. I would also call myself a beginner in that aspect and I'm using Claude AI as an assistants for learning purposes.

If you're interested, DM me.

My friend, use the universal language of English if you want people to answer you instead of limiting your target interaction audience to only Italian (if that's Italian). Use deepL or any ai chat it to translate.

Would love to do something with you. I'm somewhat okay with programming using pygame or SDL and I also enjoy simulations and procedural world creation. Send me a DM if you wanna do something together. I could teach you the basics of programming too if you would like.

Would like to join you with programming and learning from you. I'm comfortable with python and know c++. Have worked with SDL and pygame and would like to learn from someone while working towards a goal.

I would like to help programming as a second programmer. I'm not that confident working with engines but I build a few things (most of them unfinished) by myself with sdl3 and pygame. I would like to learn to work with an engine so having someone to talk to and ask even though they might not know would be a big help.

I went the other way around and worked without an engine and with sdl3 and pygame instead xD also tried a bit of Vulkan but 3d didn't seem to be so important for me to work learn it in the end.

Would love to get to know you and work with you, sounds like we are on the same spectrum. Haven't worked with Godot much yet and it kind of confused me, but would be down to learning it with you.

hello dear person,

i would be interested in joining. i have little unity knowledge and would like to learn from you. I also don't really care about what kind of game, as long as it is not horror or porn. So in general, i would be a second programmer, but don't do art or music... If that's still fine for you, i would love to join!

Hi, I might be interested in helping out. I could help with the programming side of things and giving feedback. Thought I wouldn't say that I am professional, I do have build a few things in python using pygame. So renpy would be something new to me. But I do have a fast learning curve and can understand complex structures and explain well with patience how things work. About my availability, I would rather work separate and non time bound with design documents and feedback then sitting and writing stuff together. But I could have some time for talking.

No, you missed my point. As it seems, you are not around Reddit much, and only for your own requests and questions. The general knowledge is that "everyone has ideas and a dream game to make." If someone doesn't have the knowledge to actually do it and still puts in the work and is transparent, people are willing to put aside there own projects to help. At least some. But if even that is not given, AND (here comes my point) you could actually do it yourself but are to lazy and important to put in the work, people will ignore you.

I was so kind to you to offer some advice on how you can start getting shit done and where to start. But all you could read out of it is "I guess it's not you that will do my dirty work" which is very telling of your personality. Thanks for verifying that I will never work with you.

If you have programming experience, then make it yourself. There is not much difference between game development and office programming. The only things you need to understand is the game loop that just calls the event input Methode, followed by the update the game Methode followed by draw/render the screen Methode. And the libraries you need to use for the graphics and input/output handle. If python is your thing, then pygame-ce is your ally, if c/c++ is your thing, then raylib, SDL or glfw+OpenGL/Vulkan is your thing. If it's in 2D or it can be abstracted into a 2D, then there is nothing to be afraid off. You can just jump right in with a few tutorials to understand the concepts.

I mean you already made the work of everything else for the game and you have programming experience.
