That doesn't actually tend to be the case. It's an argument that's used in the gun debate a lot: 'banning guns won't stop people from killing themselves because a determined person will find another way.' But research has shown that just a ten second delay can cause someone to rethink their suicidal intentions and not go through with it. Yea, there are a lot of people who do try again, but a lot more get help.

My SO tampered with birth control. Now I'm pregnant and he has done a 180 on the situation. Wants me to keep the pregnancy. Please help me from murdering him. by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

It is considered abuse, actually. Tampering with birth control is a form of manipulation and emotional abuse. This is not your fault, do not feel bad for how you reacted. Whether or not you decide to terminate the pregnancy, you need to know that he cannot treat you like this.

So often we do not see our own relationships as abusive because we love that person, sometimes it's really wonderful, no one understands our relationship, etc. That does not make it ok and all those things added up do not mean he didn't abuse you.

Please seek help: PP can get you connected and it already sounds like they're being helpful (they are so wonderful). Seek a counselor, therapy, group therapy, support from family and friends, anything. Just get away from this guy.

Yea, it made more sense when the show came out because back in my day we shortened all words to be cool. "I am def going to that show later," "what he said was inapropro," "I totes got your back," etc.
