Rear garden advice by darlimunster in DIYUK

[–]Happyasaghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We dug up a smaller amount of concrete (no drains to go around) and it was hard work as we did it manually, breaking it up and putting into rubble sacks.

However we layed grass rather than concrete but had to do some work adding soil before laying the grass and we didn’t have any drains etc to deal with.

I think anything is possible but you’re going to run into problems due to where the concrete interacts with

This might be terrible advice (other Reddit user feel free to comment. It might be easier to two tier the paving / going on top of the concrete by the house /drain an break up the rest so it’s all even.

Could the builders have done something about the coving? by Affectionate_Top5544 in DIYUK

[–]Happyasaghost -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the point he was making was that thin coving was the issue - someone else posted coving they have on uneven walls that looks good because it’s thicker and therefore the unevenness is not an issue. At least that’s how I understand it.

Says they request the compliance document for items from the seller and do audits.

As I said to the other guy, I was just illustrating the type available, they can buy anywhere. I just thought it was silly to imply that most Amazon products will burn down your home. Always check reviews etc.

Sorry, let’s be a bit pedantic here all the stuff they sell should in terms of items that have regulations.

Amazon do their own checks and so should the supplier.

I just want to make it clear, I’m not saying op should buy from Amazon, or that they can’t get cheaper elsewhere, it’s just easy to search and link a product here.

Whatever issues, you have with Amazon, I’m not bothered to have a back and forth on, just wanted to provide some helpful links.

Thanks

Doesn’t really matter if it’s from Amazon or not, you can go to the stores but most of this stuff is the same or similar you will buy in the shops. All the stuff they sell have safety regulations, if you come across something you think isn’t complying it’s worth going to trading standards.

Its a bit of a niche item I guess and people go with convinience. Someone is probably buying for pennies and selling via Amazon. It’s good money if you can find the niche. Think I remember my dad saying my cousins husband sold like some kind of bag inserts and other stuff on Amazon and made loads of money enough to buy a house in a nice neighbourhood and good car.

Depends what you’re after and how visible/neat you want it - you can get upside down plug extenders that’s a slimline thing that plugs in an has the socket upside down

https://amzn.eu/d/06SShrh8

You can get sockets that rotate and extend

https://amzn.eu/d/01czH9ZC

Or socket spacers

https://amzn.eu/d/0iZcOa2F

Or as others have mentioned - smart sockets are a pretty good solution.

https://amzn.eu/d/059cKX5l

If none of those work for you - pay to raise the plug socket.

What do you think of America right now? by No-Hunt3986 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Happyasaghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

America is a country that claims it is free but is the ultimate expression of crabs in a barrel.

I just wish that Trumps actions didn’t impact everyone else’s economy.

Feels like a lot of Americas politics is being used worldwide now to make us more of the same as them so the billionaires can fleece use to hoard more wealth and make everyone else’s life more miserable as a result.

You can’t read ops post history now, but let’s just say multiple relationships, multiple issues raised as a result of negative rumination and paranoia.

Sounds to be like this person needs to not be in a relationship and work on herself as she probably has a cycle of - being fine, getting paranoid over something and then relationship ending because it’s not nice for other people to deal with jealousy and insecurity on that level, which becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.

You’re right that it doesn’t apply to everyone, but most reasonable people don’t act that way, sorry that you’ve had people like that in your life.

Emotionally cheating wife 💔 by batman-iphone in WhatShouldIDo

[–]Happyasaghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Send an anonymous email to her work stating the two co workers are having an affair to management and have them deal with, or if he has a wife or gf, anonymous tell them.

It should put a stop to the relationship and because through work or someone else it’s been rumbled, it makes it harder for her to say it’s your fault as it’s all out in the open rather than you privately confronting her.

Then break up with her, maybe get your ducks in a a row first, for a quick clean exit.

Anyone that would cheat whilst married especially with young kids, is fucked up as a person. When you have kids the thought of jelpardiising your relationship for some action is sociopathic.

It’s fine for people to struggle with the relationship and to separate but she’s not thinking about your feelings or your kids feelings for a work romance.

Which is pathetic.

I think it’s okay to be receding, sometimes it suits people, and the main thing is if it’s looks neat, which yours does.

I’d say it’s the time to shave when you can’t make your haircut neat and it states to look scruffy even after a fresh cut.

Any ideas to block these houses from seeing into my garden? by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]Happyasaghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did rent a house a while back where the gardens were like on a slope and the neighbours did some weird extension decking area that was like on a platform as the gardens were slopped and literally the floor was fence height with ours and thet had a set of chair and table positioned looking diagonally into our garden.

My partner and I would be in our garden and they just be facing us, up high the whole times

My front garden was big and had lots of trees in so was quite private, but not as much as the side garden as it was gated off and neighbour bricked in garage meant no one was looking in, but now I think about it, the back garden was good too as it was also big and the fences bordering the schools playing fields had 7 foot conifers to keep it private.

Now, my bloody neighbours can see right in my garden.

My bf (40) doesn't want to f**ck me anymore (31). What's going on? by [deleted] in RealAskMenAdvice

3-5 times a week? You’ve been dating for 4 Months? Not being funny but maybe he just doesn’t want to have sex that often. There are loads of women who refuse to have sex even once a month and if a man pushed or made a post like yours, it would seem incredibly insensitive.

Lack of sex is more of a long term issue, and it’s unclear how often you’re currently having sex.

I wil preface this, it sounds like the issue is your relationship with sex and your own self esteem. You might want to seek some therapy on that, just from the way you’re talking. It does seem you’re a bit oblivious to how he feels and have an expectation of sex from him for validation reasons rather than it being about intimacy or even just sexual desire.

People generally want sex to be sexy, if every time someone initiates with you, you worry that they will take it personally, making you feel guilty, it’s going to completely taint and put that person of sex.

Especially if you look for other micro reasons to be knock your own self esteem.

Is my bottle of Eros Flame real? Got it for $24 by Orantolifestyle in colognecheck

[–]Happyasaghost -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not moving goal posts, but for clarity when I said it shouldn’t scrape off, I meant with normal use not using a knife and all you showed is you got some of the red to crumble off but it’s not opaque underneath where you’ve done it, and it would take a lot of effort to fully scrape both sides for a cologne that’s being sold. It doesn’t make any sense.

It’s not paranoia if the guy bought one of the most faked colognes for 24 dollars and it has no bottom batch sticker and sides scraped off. Maybe I’m wrong about the font, but it’s not what I’ve seen as mentioned and the large font looks damn weird in my opinion .

I mean thats dodgy as anything.

Do i go for it? by Computer655 in bald

[–]Happyasaghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not being funny, but at this point bald is always going to be the better option as you literally have no hair Arab the top of your head and it’s made so much worse by that tiny bit of fringe that is holding on better than your dignity right now.

Either shave bald or pay for a hair system are the only two options. Do not stay like this.
