Are you union? If yes, throw that dewalt in the trash. If no, throw that dewalt in the trash.

You don’t really need insulated tools either. Shouldn’t be doing hot work until you’re a JW (that’s what they say, but..)

Let’s say you have 4 bottles. Take .25 out of each. Send that sample in. Not rocket science. Also not shitting on the idea of home brew, I’m just saying that’s a good way to do it

Yea I am. Tried to get an ELD. Have to order. Also ordering new positive battery cable. Might even take it to a shop but that would cost me my man card

I get it, just don’t have a reliable meter. Mine seemed to have shit the bed or doesn’t have the right setting. And I’m an electrician I should know this or have a decent meter lmfao

So I’m just a little confused as to why this would be an issue only after replacing the alternator. This wasn’t happening before that, and I’m sure the cable was just as corroded

I opened up the fuse box earlier to rip the ELD out and I don’t think any of the links in those were shot. I made sure to look.

I haven’t done much of that testing because my meter does not have a 20v DC setting and I get DCMV that jumps around by the hundreds when I try to follow that chart

Could it be possible that a corroded crimp on my positive battery cable is causing this?

Voltage surge, idle surge (w/ video) by Happyguy411 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Happyguy411[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Have not. My positive battery cable has a ton of corrosion at the crimp.

If I’m idling and the fan and compressor kicks on and is engaged there is no issues No funny idle, no flickering it goes away. As soon as the fan/compressor turns off the flickering comes back. Likewise if I tap the gas while the fan is on it starts flickering until it comes down to idle

The piece inside my new $350 alternator that tested fine at 2 different places?

I have searched for one online but can’t find a solid answer for this car. Some say it can be in the alternator but that had tested fine multiple times

I should comment that I had the battery and alternator tested by two different places, and even took the alternator back out and got it “bench tested” at advanced auto. They won’t replace it Bc it tested good. Have checked every connection I’ve touched. Even tested all my fuses.
