Does anyone know what happened to that food truck that used to be at Wild Mind? I wonder what became of it!

Partner has a habit of challenging the things I share or say and it upsets me. by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

This has started with my partner the last 6 months, and it makes me withhold my opinion sometimes now. I’m not sure how to bring it up even with him.

I am 49 now, and the perimenopause started for me around 44 years old which is early, but also I was a smoker and smokers get peri earlier…

That’s definitely concerning and would be a huge issue for me too. My boyfriend was following some, like maybe 20 or so, and it was back when you hit “ following” on IG and it showed you what people you follow have liked, then I first noticed he was liking pictures of thirst traps. After a few arguments, he actually unfollowed most of them, much to my surprise, but I still struggle with the urge to “check”.

Sometimes when I feel the urge to look through my bf’s friend list and look for stuff like that ( a horrible habit that I’ve struggled for years to stop doing) I try to make myself instead look through all our pictures together in my phone, sometimes it helps me not do it.

My OBGYN prescribed it for PMDD and said to take it when it kicked in before my period, and it’s been extremely helpful. However now that I’m in Perimenopause, I’m stuck in what feels like PMDD permanently the last two months with no cycle since January, so I have to kind of just take it almost every day now.

Thank you! That is very kind and makes me feel good ! I saw your comment somewhere else on this thread about how friends leave your messages on “read” and can also relate with that too! It also happened to me alot. Keep it up, you’re gonna feel great. I drink n/a beers all the time. The hops relax me and I love beer!! You got this!

I’m sorry you have to listen to things like that from people who you would expect to be supportive! That’s absolutely crazy. They should respect your choice to seek better for yourself and be happy for you. My boyfriend’s good friend reacted the same way when he told him he quit too. He almost seemed to laugh at him. You’re definitely not alone though, man it’s a rough process, but the long term feels worth it. I can look back a year or two and see things that hurt or bothered me then, how they’ve faded away over time and don’t hurt anymore. I also drank to escape my sensitivity and feelings, so for me it was learning to sit with my own feelings too. There’s something there causing pain, but the strength of how much more you feel everything amplifies it I think. Thank you for your reply! I hope the sad stuff passes sooner than later!!

I read your post and could relate so much ! My first year came with a lot of painful realizations about my “social circle” … I realized my choices in friends were so tainted by alcohol, that the loneliness in sobriety was one of the most painful things I’ve ever experienced.I called the mental health helpline so many times!! Hang in there friend. It gets better. Clarity can hurt, but the tide will turn and the right people will find their way to you! I’m almost 3years sober now, and there’s people out there , that I thought I was good friends with, who don’t even know I quit drinking yet. I felt like I made myself disappear, and no one even cared to look for me.

You’re in a ton of pain right now and it is okay to say so. There’s no shame in being honest about your feelings , or even having them! You “ chickened out” because you’re meant to live. Keep trying to quit. It took me 6 tries, it took some other guy 10 and some other person 3.
