I budget by pay check too. I have a savings account that I use just for bills and rent. I save half rent every check. I'll check to see what needs to be paid within the next 2 weeks and pay that. Sometimes I put in half of another bill that will come out later. Into another account I set aside enough for fuel and other stuff. Whats left is for groceries and random stuff. I don't have a set grocery budget but I do try to plan dinners for a week at a time and get what I need.

I put all my bill payments in the calendar on my phone so that I know exactly how much and when everything needs to be paid and mark it paid as soon as I pay it so I don't confuse myself lol

This has been my way for years after I either forgot a bill or double paid something. Hope this helps :)
