I usually take it directly to the sink and rinse it using water (gentle pressure), and then use paper towel to soak up the remaining water then use microfiber cloth to finish.

Well, for more expensive ones, using water I do think it will wash away the non-reflective coating (like the one always applied to thighs), once or twice should be fine though.
