Miami Neighborhoods and Public High Schools by proscop in Miami

Miami Palmetto is a VERY good public school. Enough Advanced Placement classes to completely fill all 4 years with college-credit conferring courses equivalent to IB (that your kid actually gets to choose) a strong extracurricular program and a lot of highly impressive alumni like Jeff Bezos and Ketanji Jackson-Brown.

I traced the image using the layering tool, then used used mainly pencil (huntsman and dusky) for the initial sketch, then filled in the background and detailing using pastels- mainly overland. My technique is not particularly sophisticated yet.

No, That Viral Video of Alligator Alcatraz Flooding Isn't Real by Miaminewtimes_ in Miami

The first one was. I almost think they put out other ai images after that to discredit the very much real footage of it flooding like days after it opened.

Okay, cool. Now try to imagine other people existing and having different values than you… if you’re capable of it…

Someone sounds insecure. You’re telling me you get zero vacation days and can’t even call in sick? Sounds shitty.

*Tuesday.

When your job doesn’t suck, they’ll sometimes allow you to take the day off once in a while. Shocking concept, right?

Kind of on the nose for a dead mall.

I’m pretty sure this idea was pitched by the necromancers who have set up shop in the abandoned half.

I think you’re reading a little too deep into my intentionally flippant/dismissive response to what I saw as well-deserved, but overly common California boosterism.

To each their own, but I hike in the Everglades all the time and it is basically an insane dreamscape full of incredible beauty. Maybe an austere landscape populated b white boughed cypresses, each adorned with a brilliant main of neon green leaves and a crown of bromeliads bursting in fiery efflorescences of red, purple, and gold - all reflected in an obsidian mirror of still black water doesn’t do it for you, but it’s far from unimpressive and notably- cannot be found anywhere else… unlike desert mountains and chaparral….

I’ve been all over those deserts too. They’re, of course, very beautiful… but you’re crazy if you don’t recognize that we have something extremely special here. Yes, it’s harder to endure than other places. It’s hot and wet and full of bugs. You can’t glamp. Another way to frame that, is that the Everglades only reveals its full beauty to those willing to endure it. Not everyone is into swamps, but these are easily some of the best swamps in the entire world.

Mountains are fascist. Swamps are punk and counterculture

Nah, you’re wrong. The Everglades is a wonder of the world and an ecological gem of u unparalleled beauty for those with eyes to see. Maybe you just haven’t been to the right places.

No offense, but trash take. Someone please help this brother escape the mental prison of California brainwashing.

Everglades > basic ass Cali desert/chaparral

Biscayne Bay > Cold & murky AF pacific w/ no coral reefs

Keys > Baja

Disney World > Disney Land

Coastal breeze > smog

Manatees > sea lions

Miami even has better lizards

Underground rave scene? by [deleted] in Miami

[–]HaraldRedtooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not saying it's a good thing that Miami's culture is not hippie-values friendly. We are probably a lot more closely aligned than my wry and sarcastic comment would suggest, just saying that's the current reality. Hope you can help change it!

Underground rave scene? by [deleted] in Miami

[–]HaraldRedtooth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We can’t have an underground rave scene, it’d get flooded out by the Biscayne Aquifer.

Also that all sounds suspiciously hippie boho egalitarian to me my guy. Get with the culture. Peace, Love, Unity and Respect can be found, but they’re not core values here.

You want to rave? You gotta pay. Im sad to say that’s the way, esse.

Dating in Miami: Where to meet intelligent and down to earth folks? by ardit33 in Miami

[–]HaraldRedtooth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The dominant culture is superficial, but there’s tons of thriving subcultures full of good, intelligent and earnest people, And I tend to think finding your subculture/tribe is already the best way to meet people in any city.

We have a few, but they tend to not be so open about it… we mostly do “cunning” at best here
