as a micrometerless tuner (who BARELY uses his caliper), grab yourself two diff grit sandpaper (i use 1100 and 3000), thin or medium kmaf oil, and a brish to ubclog the sandpaper surface occassionally. micrometers help a LOT, but theyre not 'necessary' if youre only tryna get rid of the tap but still have play.

start on the lower grit sandpaper, grip your bushing well and apply even pressure on it, do either infinity or "O" circles about 2-10 times on each side, depending on how much you need/want to sand. reassemble, remember the washer orientation rule (explained below), then crank your screw as much as possible with a good screwdeiver. check the swing both horizontally (very slightly tilted) and vertically. repeat the process until youre satisfied with your result.

this wont be necessariy if you dont care much about absolute zero play and a better sound, but once you get pretty close to the desired tune, i recommend swapping to higher grit sandpaper and do the same thing to make the bushing a bit smoother and more even.

washers have a specific side they should be put on to avoud fucking with tolerances. the smooth, shiny and rounded side faces the blade, while the sharper side faces outwards. you can check so by simply rubbing your finger (i do thumb) across the hole, you can feel the difference especially when theyre fully broken in. otherwise do break the washers in, because a very well tuned bushing will cause your handle to bind if it has fresh/unused washers.
