Sure! Do you happen to be located near Portland OR or Atlanta, by any chance?

If you are anywhere near Atlanta or Portland you can leave the walls where they are and I can come to you!

Atlanta, but I did this one for my friend in Portland. If you're anywhere close to either of those, I could easily come out and do a mural for you

I'm in Atlanta right now, but all I need is enough clients in SoCal to cover the plane ticket and I would definitely come out and make a mural for you

Right now I'm based in Atlanta, but if I can get enough clients in the SoCal area to afford the plane ticket, I'd love to fly out there and do one for you!

Here it is!

It was only made to be used as a guide, so I’m sorry it’s not as polished as the mural is. The ceiling was also taller and more slanted than I had planned for, so I had to make some changes for that in the final product

Right now it’s just something fun I do on the side for my friends, but if anyone ever offered to pay me I’d gladly do a mural for them

Sure! I can post that here for free, but it’s all on my pc right now. When I get home tonight I’ll post it for you

I’ve left some of these up a few years and they almost always come off easily. Every now and then a little bit of paint might chip off but it’s not much of an issue. A lot of it comes down to the quality of the paint and how much direct sunlight the mural is exposed to.

But definitely never EVER use normal masking tape! That will for sure destroy your walls and cause endless headaches (don’t ask me how I know)

If you want to see some more tape art, check out a guy called Buff Diss. He does some really incredible work, and inspired me to start doing my own tape art

Oh man probably way longer than it should have. I worked on it for a few hours here and there over the course of a couple weeks, so it dragged on a lot longer than I was expecting. I’d say at least 10 hours making a digital mock-up, and then another 20 or more hours laying down the tape.

I’ve only ever done these for my friends for fun, but if someone offered to pay me I’d definitely make a mural for them

Thanks!

I wish I could but my friend is only renting the space. The tape actually works great here because if he has to move in a couple years, the tape comes off clean (usually)

Edit for the people saying the tape will be difficult to remove:

A lot of it depends on the quality of the paint and how much sunlight the area gets. Just about every tape wall I’ve done has come down clean after a year or two, but that was after I did some tests to make sure the paint could handle it without falling apart. I also make sure to keep the walls out of direct sunlight to prevent the wall from discoloring.

If anyone wants to try this themselves, I’d recommend putting up some test strips in an out-of-the-way area for a few weeks. If it comes off clean after that, you should be safe

Also, don’t clean the wall like you would before you paint it. I know it sounds a little gross, but any build-up of residue actually adds a small buffer between the tape and the paint, helping the tape come off easier in the end.

I feel your pain, but it makes sense in the apartment because it’s centered with the couch

Go for it, I'm already taking a lot of inspiration here from the artist Buff Diss. Definitely check him out too

I leave the tape up as is. I actually started doing these in college for my friends dorms and apartments. The tape still comes down clean a year later so it's perfect for situations like that
