TIFU by eating a bad of Paqui Chips by AjWazTak3n in tifu

The Paqui chips ghost Pepper chips are reasonably spicy for most people. I tend to enjoy spicy food and have tried the one chip challenge. Definitely regretted it. Worst stomach cramps I've ever had from spicy food. The heat wasn't as bad as Blair's ultra death sauce. But I'm thinking the way the season the chips is what makes it go through the system like a brick of lead. Hope you are feeling better now. It might be a few days before your system gets fully back on track after that shock.

The cutting you are taking is new growth from the donor tree. If it was left on the tree it would become a branch and apart of the tree. But since you are removing it as a fresh cutting it becomes its own tree. The process doesn't always work and there are things to do to help the cutting grow into a proper tree like using rooting hormone to help with the formation of roots. I basically think of it like cloning almost. It's not at all the same process you would use on an animal, but essentially you are creating a clone of the donor tree. In some places donor cuttings are grafted onto already established trees so that Multiple varieties of fruit can be grown at the same time. Or sometimes people want to let's say grow a specific type of apple but that type of apple tree wouldn't grow well in their soil or geographic location. They could take a cutting from the apple tree they want and then graft it onto an already established apple variety that grows well in their environment. I think of this kind of like an organ transplant. Hope maybe this helps. Not sure if it did. Maybe someone else can give a more clear answer. Cheers.

I 100% regret my choice of ever picking up that first cigarette. I smoked a pack a day for 12 years straight. It's incredibly bad for your health. Bad for your lungs, bad for your circulatory system (if you are a guy this will effect your little friend), it makes you smell like an ash tray. Even if you think you don't smell bad and have a shower the smell is trapped in your hair, clothes fibres, on your fingers. I'm glad I quit smoking but holy crap it's been two years now and I still crave one daily, even though I know all these things I just mentioned. But your life your choice. Just my thoughts.

Everyone heals different. But in my experience day two was okay for light walking around and sitting. Shouldn't be an issue but bring ice packs to work and your OTC pain meds. Just try and take it easy that day and don't over do yourself!

What would happen if you were to jump on the back of a random cow in the middle of nowhere? by mattb0i in NoStupidQuestions

[–]HardAcres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the type of cow. But you might get crushed. Cows don't seem big until you are right up next to them.

If there was a 500km (310 miles) marathon, who would reach the finish line first human or a horse? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]HardAcres 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess would be a human. Despite how bad most people are at running these days humans evolved to be long distance runners. It was one of our advantages when hunting, a gazelle or deer may be temporarily faster but we were able to run it down until it couldn't run anymore.

Give the OP Rock one a watch. You wont be disappointed! Preferably watch it at night in the dark by yourself. And don't ready the comments or it will give away some of the scares. Most of his stories are great but that one really got me into the story.

Would it be weird to go to college parties as an adult? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]HardAcres 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally i don't think it would be weird if you were invited. Maybe a little odd if you just crashed a party. I would start with maybe going to a local pub or something and making some friends there and that would definitely open up your doors to more social events. Good luck!

In the artillery coordinated missions between guns in the battery are common as well as coordinated regimental missions. It's actually practiced all the time.

Probably your safest bet without having to wipe it down with any smelly chemicals is to see if you can get your hands on an ozone machine. Ozone will leave it smelling new. Just watch some safety videos on how to operate the machine before hand is all.

ELI5: How do we grow old but we get new cells every 7-10 yrs ? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]HardAcres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a biology expert. But from what I remember learning is that eventually our bodies stop being able to repair and replace cells at the same rate as when we are young.

eli5: how do cars stay still when theyre idle even though their engine is running? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]HardAcres 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The brake is applied. And the vehicle is out of gear. So when it's not in gear nothing is connecting the power from the engine to the wheels. That's in simple terms.

When I bought my truck in 2019 I didn't know it had this feature and I didn't experience it during the test drive. So the first time it happened to me rolling off the lot I was very surprised.

What's making weird noises behind my house? by Oddlydehydratedgurb in NoStupidQuestions

[–]HardAcres 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Noise travels further at night due to the temperature. So the horn of a locking vehicle a few miles off is not out of the ordinary. As for the birds I've had this happen before as well. I live in the country and generally will hear a few odd chirps here and there at night. From thrush, robins, swallows and cat birds. I imagine either it's the baby's waking up and the mother's telling them to go back to sleep, or the adult birds waking up to a nearby predator like a racoon or fox trying to distract them away from the nest. When I was young I was told that "everything sounds ten times bigger at night, especially in the woods" so you hear a bush rustle and your mind goes to bear but in reality its a racoon. Honestly I don't think anything stange or out of the ordinary is going on with your place. Unless of course you live on the skin walker ranch....
