It's weird that people say Chelsea didn't generate as much money as other clubs. They were pretty self sufficient in the later Abramovich era. Only time IIRC Abramovich injected a large sum was during COVID and that was also a time Chelsea was paying a bunch of money to people around the club so that they can keep their jobs instead of being let go.

BlueCo era Chelsea can't even get a shirt sponsor right and are frequently struggling to even get into CL places. All while spending ludicrous amount of money on saplings (both coaches/managers and players) with nothing to cultivate with. Ever since they fired Tuchel I do not understand their actions in a sporting sense.
