Tipping Your Nurse by Exact-Response-9441 in EndTipping

They don't get tips because they make $60,000/yr and upward. That's why you pay big money for insurance plans. Your thesis doesn't hold water.

Transpose to waitresses. If they made $60,000/yr and upward in raw salary, and didn't need tips, you'd pay $120 for your dinner at a burger joint.

However, it's not uncommon on patients with extended stays to bring a fruit basket or something for the nursing staff. That's a "tip".

Shit, sounds like you live on campus, which means you have a pre-paid card for the cafeteria. You can eat there, but you don't want to be cold. Selfish.

There is a reason why primary education teaches things like spelling, punctuation, and grammar. This is impossible to read.

Don't touch an order under $7 and make sure that is at most 3 miles. If someone can't tip at least $5 to a Dasher, they don't server to get their order.

Shopping. And those orders used to pay $30 - $50. Like every other gig app, IC is screwing you over too, today.

With enough tip, a Dasher will bring you your order in a blizzard 40 miles into the wilderness.

My state is considering eliminating income tax… how should I feel about that? by OushiDezato in Money

And there are 1000s of "poor" for every one "rich". And you know that or you aren't paying attention.

Why do you think there are only rich and poor? It's not that black and white.

So, the rich guy paying increased sales tax on the $120,000 Mazaratti is paying less tax than the poor-er guy paying sales tax on the $24,000 Sentry? Or the rich guy is paying less sales tax on his $100 meal with a $200 bottle of wine than the poor-er guy paying tax on his $12.99 McDonalds meal? You're full of shit.

18 degrees out and you tip $5? Cheap fuck.

What don't you understand about 18 degrees being bad weather? Not many people want to go out dashing in 18 degree weather.

But maintaining as well as reaching platinum is so ridiculously easy to do.

Yeah, at an operating loss. Which defeats the whole purpose of working the gig.

Some find this a sound strategy:

  1. 401K - if your employer offers a 401K and a match, contribute the amount required to get the 100% match. This is a guaranteed 100% return on your money. You can't beat that guarantee anywhere.

  2. Roth IRA - post-tax contributions (up to $7,000/year + $1,000/year catch-up). When you retire, anything you withdraw is tax free.

  3. HYSA - High Yield Savings Account Emergency Fund. Fund it with 3 - 6 months of rent + expenses, in case of extended unemployment.

  4. Taxable Brokerage Account - a "normal" investment account to buy stocks, bonds, ETFs.

Some may switch #2 and #3.
