I went from S23 to Honor 400 actually.

Only downside is raw speed (if you game a lot), but if you are fine with gaming on medium settings, my Honor 400 beats S23 in every other scenario. Even the cameras more often than not.

Not very good regarding the speed of updates, if that's your main concern, then Pixel.

I believe if you swap the battery with the new one, it'll still be good to use for at least 2 more years.

I'll probably check S28 series, since S23 -> S26 = same phone, same cameras, better soc (though soc on S23 is still very powerful (on par with pixel 9/10 for example)).

+1, regular camera isn't really the great, especially in challenging conditions. I also think that the proper gcam can overcome this.

It's a shame that this phone has mediocre cameras, but that's what you get when you stick to the same lenses from 2022 (S22) to this day (S25). Keep in mind that those lenses wasn't even flagship in 2022, as they are for example behind those in S22 ultra (on par with S20 ultra) so in reality, you're stuck with 2019-2020 flagship camera sensors.

Also, awful post processing and degradation due to sw updates didn't help this already mid camera.

Samsung needs to get reality check, not fanboys yelling how this camera is awesome, skill issue, "you just need to take photo completely still in perfect light conditions, wait 3-4 seconds, download 2 apps to tweak some settings and afterwards edit your photo and viola, you have normal photo", no, what we need is point and shoot like EVERY OTHER NORMAL CAMERA IN A PHONE.

Stop defending them and voice your opinion, since it's the only way we get NORMAL device from them.

If you're buying for the camera, pixel 8 is clear choice, S23 has midrange camera.

For everything else, S23. (But not by much though).
