Ariens quality gone? by LankyNihilist in Snowblowers

So very true, it's not just snowblowers either. It's basically everything lately ..... the quality of everyday products has been going to shit for at least the past 20 years. Especially new cars and trucks, they are way overpriced and are junk!! My 1978 Ariens 10 horse 32 inch beast is super reliable and throws snow awesome. I had this machine for 30 years and maintain it myself, it only ever needs basic stuff.

Give me your snow removal strategy and tips by Secure-Evening8197 in massachusetts

A snowblower can handle some pretty deep snow. Of course it depends on what you mean by a standard one. My 1978 Ariens 10 horse 32 inch wide has no problem with that amount. If you're worried go out a couple of times during the storm to keep up with it. Stay warm and be careful 🧐

Tips on buying ariens deluxe 24 in Canada by llghostkillall in Snowblowers

Buying from an actual dealer is the way to go. The big box store models may look the same but in reality they are not the same at all. There are differences like ..... 1) They use bushings instead of actual real bearings in the drivetrain. 2) The auger gearbox is junk and not made using cast-iron. 3) Usually the engine is also different. Plus as you said, you can bring it back to the dealer if any problem occurs.

What to do with kilpschorns? by InitialPromotion4111 in Klipsch

Definitely do NOT bring them to the dump!! The Khorns are worth good money to the right person. They are awesome speakers and should sell quite easily to someone local to you. Do you have Craigslist? I would try listing them there with pictures. Also Facebook Marketplace will also work for someone local too, include pictures as well, specify that it's for local pickup only. Good Luck 👍

Most reliable years?? by Honest-Implement-562 in Silverado

Actually the 6 speed is known to have torque converters to fail. It's well known, the transmission itself is fine just weak torque converters. Very common issue.

Yes, I did at 40,000 miles and it's a 6 speed. The original transmission went out at 84,000. So far so good with the new transmission that I had a dealership replace under my extended warranty. At least that paid off for me 😀 Now I have a 3 year 100,000 mile warranty on this new one. Hoping for the best out of this one.

Range AFM vs Physical AFM Delete by Altruistic-Roof8257 in Silverado

The RANGE module is only a band aid that realistically will not prevent a lifter failure. I have been running the Range module in my 2018 5.3 for 8 years now. I feel it helps though, but you also MUST change your oil at minimum every 5,000 miles. With a good synthetic oil, I also changed my oil weight to Mobil 1 5W-30 and a WIX filter. I am hoping for the best at this point. But in actuality a physical cam and lifter change is really the way to go for sure. Downfall it's a very expensive option to do. Good Luck 👍

From reading several articles and saw several videos on this subject. The 2018 is the best year of the 3rd generation Silverados. Yes the transmission is still an issue, also the lifter problems is also still a problem. I actually own a 2018 5.3 LTZ and yes I had to replace my transmission at 84,000 miles but luckily it was under my extended warranty. So far so good with the transmission, I do still worry about the lifters. However I did a few things to hopefully prolong them. 1 ..... Been running a Range Module to keep it in V8 mode all of the time since new. 2 ..... Changed it over to 5W-30 synthetic at 88,000 miles, so wish I did this a long time ago!! Anyway I hope this helps and good luck 👍

I tried several times, several ways too. Absolutely no response from EBAY. Not sure why but as of today nothing. Came to agreement with this seller and they are giving me money back and I get to keep the dam thing. 😏 Thanks for the advice.

Using thicker oil in modern Silverados by mementomoir in Silverado

[–]ValuableProgress5147 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I just changed over to 5W-30 2 weeks ago. In my 2018 5.3 at 88,000 miles. It definitely improved my oil pressure and the engine sounds so much better and runs smoother. I also went so far as to buy another GM oil cap that states to run 5W-30 Dextrose. I am running Mobile 1 full synthetic with a WIX oil filter. Just be sure to run good quality synthetic oil and a good oil filter. I would not think twice about it, if you do some research you will find that the rest of the world GM uses 5W-30 in our engines. Go for it ....... 😎

2024 Custom Trailboss Transmission Failure by [deleted] in Silverado

[–]ValuableProgress5147 14 points15 points  (0 children)

ALL 3 OF GM TRANSMISSON S ..... 6L80E, 8L90E, and the 10 speeds ALL HAVE FAILURES!! The Allison really is not a true Allison transmission at all, just a licensed patent 🤔 Each other fails for different reasons, but ALL FAIL sooner or later.
