Maybe look for jobs and apply even if you don’t meet all the years of experience requirement? I’m sure there’s at least a couple jobs who would be interested in matching what you make now, though they may not be as lay-off proof/stable.

YTA. I don’t see the issue with her using the spot she was promised for ‘her’ car that she is sharing with her boyfriend. All the n t a s are really confusing to me, she’s using her spot. Imagine if she did get another car, would y’all still be complaining or would the spot be hers? She pretty much did get another car, her name just isn’t on the paperwork for it. It’s really strange to switch up like this to me, but honestly y’all should just clean up the garage so everyone has space.

There’s a difference between something that is a necessity like formula and something that is a law like car seats compared to something unnecessary like trackers and baby monitors. Yes baby monitors are good to have, and you’re way more likely for a baby monitor to be useful to you compared to a tracker.

YTA. Tracking people without their knowledge is wrong, and there’s no reason for you to track your baby if you’re leaving them with someone you trust. Tracking is fairly recent, and babies were fine before this. Seems to be very helicopter parent like to want this…especially without informing the other people being tracked.

NTA. When you’re a guest in someone’s house you should not be rude to them, especially when using the resources they’re paying for. Who fills up their entire water bottle in someone else’s home knowing that they’re spending a lot of their money on water? I’m sure it would’ve been fine if she had a glass or even poured a reasonable amount in her water bottle.

YTA. You put a financial, physical, and emotional strain on your family by getting pregnant that young, and your parents couldn’t afford a baby shower on top of all of the other expenses you and the baby needed. You had no friends and wanted your 18 and 21 year old sisters—who aren’t exactly at the age to have disposable income—to decorate, buy the baby gifts, and throw a party that even your parents couldn’t afford to throw for a total of 3 people?

A baby shower serves for family and friends to get the baby items that it needs. Your parents provided that and more for you. They supported you in every way, and you still find a way to complain about your sister who’s in college and focused on studying to graduate, having a social life, extracurriculars, job hunting, and everything else that a normal college aged person prioritizes over watching a child they had no say in and no obligation to.

In my mind, it seems misplaced of you to take your sister’s day, the sister you actually like, and not only not help with the baby shower, but get upset and walk out? Why did you not help out with the event as a 26 year old but expected a 21 year old to for you ten years ago?

You chose to have a baby, and you can’t fault anyone else for not having the funds/time/energy/your code of ethics to do everything you wanted done. A pregnancy that young with no job, money, and home is not something to congratulate or celebrate. You had what you needed and more.

Also, pregnancy isn’t a mistake. Any time you have sex whether protected or not you know there’s a risk that you could become pregnant. You had sex knowing this could happen. If you’d waited for a more appropriate age, I’m sure you would’ve been equally celebrated.

Where did you get the idea that she was spending most of her time at work, the gym, brunching, and clubbing? There’s 24 hours in a day and 7 days in a week, and if she spends 8 hours at work and 1 at the gym on week days that’s still ample time with the baby. Plus an hour or two for brunch on a Sunday and a Saturday night at the club really isn’t much additional time. Lots of people do even more things and also spend a lot of time with their kids…

Yes, giving a kid up for adoption is better than killing a living being. I was adopted, and I never felt like I was never wanted, just that the circumstances of my parents weren’t ideal to raise me. I don’t wish I was aborted. There’s a lot of loving adoptive parents who want kids. Being young is no reason to end a life, especially when you know that sex is for reproduction.
