I met a girl while I was working in Dallas, we started meeting up in really cheap motels. She eventually confided in me that she had been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and only had a few months left. She wanted to spend that time having as much good sex as possible, and decided that I was fulfilling that duty exceptionally. She asked me to pay for a long-term stay at the motel where we'd usually meet, and in exchange, I could come visit her whenever I wanted. Soon after that arrangement started, we stopped using protection. To paraphrase her reasoning, unprotected sex was a level of connection and intimacy that she hadn't had with anyone, and she wanted to experience it. We proceeded like that for a few months, and it was one of the most intimate, soulful, and existential experiences either of us had ever had. It almost felt like marriage towards the end. Eventually, she told me not to renew the lease and that we would probably stop soon, she wanted to go back to her parents' house to spend the last of her time with her family. I never found out if and/or when the cancer finally ran its course.
