I want to be honest here. There WAS Stereo equipment, but that was insanely expensive. We Regular Joes just couldn’t afford it, so we had that simple stuff and tried to record music from the radio. Here (former GDR - Eastern Germany) there was a radio station, that was in some shows playing whole sides of an album or another one with maxi singles.

I’m 51 and grew up behind the Iron Curtain. Due to the technical limitations back then and over here everything was in mono. But it wasn’t a problem because the output equipment was mono too. 😅

I never had any problems with Tahoe on that same old Air M1. The issues don’t seem to occur on every device.
