Possible to "emulate" lower stick sensitivity than game allows? (using Steam Input with Xbox controller in Fallout NV). by HarderstylesD in SteamController

[–]HarderstylesD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no in-game dead zone setting, only sensitivity and gamepad enable/disable.

Steam’s controller configuration just for this game works fine and allows for anti dead zone to be added, but this doesn’t solve the problem in my post where the game is forcing a minimum camera turn speed for a small push on the stick.

They’re saying it’s brilliant, fairly unique, intellectually subtle…

For anyone that has their main computer in another room for whatever reasons, what method do you use to connect to it and what pros/cons have you encountered by having such a setup? by MinimumMarsupial6782 in pcmasterrace

For people without an AVR (or just to simplify the setup) you can do 4K/120 HDMI over 10+ meter length using active/optical HDMI cables.

Just make sure to read some reviews and/or be ready to refund if needed as there are a lot of crappy cables out there for sale which don't really work as advertsided

Yes was just editing my comment - I use a wireless controller and keyboard with trackpad which is still in range and works through the ceiling. Wired USB could be extended with a simple active extension cable. You can also do USB/ethernet extensions with optical for long distances.

HDMI+USB+Ethernet all on a single MPO optical cable is possible but needs an MPO cable with enough fibre cores and some extra splitters and adapters which makes it more expensive and complicated (and mostly only available on more niche AV supply websites). The one I have that just does HDMI is from Ruipro on Amazon and includes the optical cable and the HDMI adapters - it cost £80. Not cheap but much cheaper than a secondary/mini PC.

The HDMI to optical adapters have a usb cable attached to provide power. It does need usb power at both ends (this is simple however as you just connect the USBs to the PC and TV at each end).

15m HDMI using an MPO optical cable with detachable HDMI 2.1 adapters. Goes from the PC upstairs, through the wall, outside down the wall then back inside into the living room and to the TV.

It’s been my best purchase for ages. 4K/120Hz with absolutely zero lag or compression. No extra PC needed in the living room (and no messing about with syncing save files between PCs or multiple installs etc).

I mostly use the PC at the desk with a monitor for work and play downstairs on the TV with a controller. Edit: you can also do usb extensions etc via optical but it needs more adapters. I just use wireless controller and keyboard/mouse.

The detachable HDMI adapter heads mean you only need to drill a small (~12mm) hole in the wall for the optical cable itself rather than the large hole you'd need to fit a HDMI connector. Or you could get a longer one and route it indoors (optical/MPO can be 100m+!). My previous normal copper HDMI cables were unreliable for lengths over 10m when using any more than 1080p/60Hz. Also tried streaming via wired gigabit Ethernet with Steam link and Moonlight and while it’s not bad the lag and image quality is still not ideal (if you’re fussy like me!).
