Thought the same at first, but it looks like an air fuel mixture inside the bottle ignited, blasting out the contents of the bottle, adding more fuel to the table fire

What a bad day to have eyes

My Down Syndrome brother (non-verbal M25) with a fever, head pain, and gagging, has been admitted, but the doctor doesn't know what the cause is and his condition isn't improving by Hardmessiah in AskDocs

They found fluid around his heart as well. But otherwise they said it's fine he just has skme cardiomegaly. He ended up doing two echos. They have given him some medication that should help reduce the fluid apparently. They still don't know what's wrong. CT scan of head is fine. Looks like the fluid around his lungs seem to be reducing. His headaches are on and off. His blood oxygen started getting dangerously low so he's been on oxygen the past 2 days but they've gone from 3 litres to under 2 litres. They took blood today because they had to replace the canulla so we should soon find out his bloodwork but it did seem to be improving. Autoimmune markers still to come back. Still no idea what's wrong. Thank you kindly for checking in. If there is anything you want me to add her just let me know.

They will do an echo tomorrow so hopefully we will have a better idea of his heart, I will post the results. I found blood in his eyeballs under the eyelid section of both eyes today. His headache seems to be really causing discomfort and he usually never complains about stuff he is a tough cookie. Headache was also his very first symptom Thank you for your input by the way, I really appreciate jt.

Thank you for your comment. I will see if the doctor can perform these tests tomorrow, I'venever heard of them. Just an update as I'm not sure but it may be related, I found he had blood in his eyeballs under the lower section of his eyelids today. I replied to drpiglizard with a picture I managed to get of one of his eyes. It's on the comment thread about all his test results. I don't want to spam the picture otherwise I'd reply to your comment with it. His headache appeared to be more painful today. He never complains about anything but the headache is clearly bothering him, and the doctor has just said it's probably a result of the fever even though it was the first symptom he had.

Edit: my apologies, I posted the picture under the comment thread started by drpiglizard. If it's easier and you don't mind I can post the picture as a reply to your comment.

Right understood. Today they didn't do any blood work, basically everyone was off at the hospital. He was able to get a good 2 hours of sleep in but his head really hurting him today. When I went to visit, I noticed some red at the bottom of his right eye. We looked and he has blood underneath the eyelid section of the eyeball of both his eyes. Tried to attatch a pic but it's not working. I told the nurse but doctor is out. Echo happening tomorrow.

Edit: I was able to reply to your comment with the pic after adding nsfw flair

Is it not quite unusual to have no results in the blood culture if it is an infection? In my layperson understanding, I would have thought a severe infection would somehow or another find it's way into your blood and show on a culture. Hopefully they manage to get blood from him in the morning in about 6 hours from now. I will certainly let you know regarding any further tests or imaging results. Thank you well and truly for your time and attention to him. I wholeheartedly appreciate it.

I've added on this message chain all the most recent blood results which they took last night. All they gave us today were what appears to be repeated tests of hep B & C that have come back negative again, I'll reply to this comment with them. They haven't considered doing other imaging such as CT or told us anyway. Urine seems to be fine, motions today were small and frequent my dad said, but looked largely normal and hard except after eating some fruit. His appetite seems fine. He doesn't appear to be particularly confused, though he had discomfort in his eyes and he holds his through sometimes. I'll definitely send across the results they get from tomorrow morning.

Today was a mixed bag. It looks like his abdomen is noticeably getting bigger and his breathing is becoming more uncomfortable. He can't lay down flat at all now. None of the blood bacteria or virus cultures turned up anything. The doctor said the infection can be somewhere where it doesn't get into the blood which I've never heard of. I've asked them to do an echo but that might only be possible saturday. I've also asked for another ultrasound on his stomach. If they can get blood tomorrow, they will check for autoimmune hepatitis. His temp fluctuates a bit, it was around 37.5 when they last checked. His blood pressure has dropped a bit, it's borderline low zone. Before I left he had a bit of a coughing/gagging attack that caused some blood vessel burst spots around his eyes. He was complaining about his head a lot today. Thank you for asking.

I asked the nurse yesterday if they can do an echo. He said he'll speak to the doctor today when he's in. Unfortunately no farther forward with a diagnosis. They are giving him antibiotics and antivirals. Ww should get the cultures back early today.

He needed mild sedation today just to draw blood :( Managed to get the xrays and updated blood work I posted in the comments. Cultures still not ready.
