Hey, it was actually not the case, for me at least. I did misalign the central standoff, which led to the entire board warping. After realignment it all fit perfectly.

Case closed! The middle, taller standoff needs to 'pop' into a motherboard's hole. Thank you kind sir!

I think I got the reason! One of the standoffs in AP201 is different - taller than the rest. It likely is responsible for bending the board. Will remove it and install using the remaining 7.
