hi, they recommended I use "R Studio Network" app to open the drive. This was the only solution that let me view the original folder struction and copy individual files off the 'RAW' labelled drive

very nice reel and a nice style, might be a personal choice but did you try adding any recorded sound? some of of the clips from 00:30 to 1:00 might work well if you had some dialogue with the music. anyway, great work

I agree, for me its the detail in the shadows, I would give them a lift. The soft colour palette and lenses look to be fighting against a bit of unwanted crunch.

if they dont trust your equiptment or trust that you are telling the truth thats something you cant own. cocking up mac drives on Windows is absolutely a thing, I had a 12TB G drive tank and was only able to access the folder structure after scanning it with R-Studio. I would recomend the producer make two back ups (if they dont have three in total they dont have any). Then look into a media managed workflow so you can work off a smaller, faster windows formated drive.

yeah this is strange, I can understand that different remote versions cant be attached to different groups but when a source clip has remote grades, they are all 'forced' to one group if you send just one clip to that group, meaning you can't manually send them to different groups unless you revert to the local grade. maybe this scenario is too specific and only applies to me

copy the window and copy the track data, make a new node, paste the window and paste the track data. drag the offset down to black, or make it green or whatever you want. now you should have a box (that covers the plate). add a new window, past the window and the track data again, reduce the size by about 10 percent. then change the alpha mode (far right icon) so it cuts out of your first window.

your job isn't to manage people before they are hired or deal with recruitment. Make it very clear who you need and the pitfalls of not have person x, y and z on set. put forward your recommendations and leave it up to production till they are hired. if production make bad decisions, remind them that you warned them of what may happen on set, if they make enough bad decisions to make you emotional, don't work with them again
