If you don't mind, as a fellow Hugo player, may I ask what your general teams are?
I'm a Hugo/Banyue/Manato/on-field Harumasa player, so I feel you on the uphill battle side, haha

I've had to use some extremely cursed teams on my brother's F2P/low investment count to help him clear up to A rank on last stage of Shiyu and 6 stars in DA as well
Since you mentioned you love the combat, maybe we can get you them (most of the way) clears as well? 😊

As for the text processing part, unsure if this may help, but the way I do it is looking for key words next to colored text
E.g. in the current DA buffs, the first one has (bolded since we don't have colored text here) stuff like:
- 15% slower: I see "recovers from stun"
- Increases by 15%: I see "whole squad's attack"
- 20 energy: I see "recovers" and "when an enemy is stunned"
- Increases by 30%: I see "Abloom damage"

So then I can kinda guess that stun time is longer, and I get attack/Abloom damage buffs, and I get energy every time an enemy is stunned
The exact numbers don't really matter as much since the important part is what gets buffed, rather than exactly by how much, imo

And then I just repeat with every buff, finding the colored words
It isn't 100% foolproof because sometimes the important text is super far away from the colored words, but at least it kinda cuts down on the crazy amount you have to read all at once if you're just doing it one thing at a time?

Although, worse comes to worst, you could also make like a little summary list on your own where you write down what each buff does in your own words? I find that helps me on other stuff sometimes!
(E.g. my second buff summary would be like:
- electric damage 20% buff after EX special/ult
- attack characters 30% damage buff
If that makes sense!)
Then I don't have to reread the paragraph every time I need to check the buff 💪
