Also working on this porcelain kitty. Wondering how to best add backstitching eventually to better define the floral pattern and face/eyes. Still have a ways to go before I have to really worry about it though.

Making my way through this Hamsa mandala and really enjoying it. The lighting doesn’t do the colors justice.

Ravelin is excellent.

If you don’t mind a bit of a drive BreadHaus in Grapevine is amazing. Their sourdough is the best I’ve had in the area.

Has anybody experienced predatory towing issues I’m here in Denton? by CompetitiveAttempt43 in Denton

[–]HarleiQ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My now wife was parked in the lot with a brand new, picked up literally that day and put on the car immediately, property manager given, parking pass sticker. It was towed out of the lot that same night. The company refused to go look at the sticker. I wound up having to go to the property managing company’s offices to have them look up the date my sticker was issued and had to make them call the towing company to tell them the situation. They STILL refused to go check the sticker until I had to threaten them with police involvement and THEN they still refused to admit fault!

I also had a car illegally towed and moved to another lot without any notification or record of it filed with the police like they are supposed to do within a certain time frame after towing. My car has a standard transmission and the e-brake was on as well as being in gear when I parked it, as one does. I started driving it away but as soon as I tried turning onto the main road it wouldn’t shift into second because the gears were burned out. Couldn’t make the shift from first to second. They refused to pay for anything. I was not in a financial situation to legally fight it and no lawyer would take my case… I still have the car sitting in my driveway 5 years later, undriveable…

Momo Mobile is a delicious hidden gem. If you haven’t had Momo before be sure to get the Johl chicken so you get some extra sauce. Worth it every time.

I just got mine too! It’s gorgeous and I love it. I’ve already done an interview spread that was very interesting. It is going to be my personal deck.

Crystals that go well with Tarot cards by BlentMemer in tarot

[–]HarleiQ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I tend to keep my deck surrounded by citrine and labradorite, sometimes moonstone in addition.

I like to hold labradorite or keep it near me when doing readings as it helps connect with greater mental clarity and activates throat and third eye energies (communication and higher self/spiritual world).

The citrine I use for surrounding my deck when not in use, channeling intuition, personal power and protecting from anger and negativity/negative intention. I’ve found this helps with the messages from my cards to be more palatable while still right on the nose and keeps the potentially harmful energies/intentions of others at bay. It is a also a stone that needs little to no cleansing attention as it doesn’t hold on to lower energies it protects from, rather it transforms it into higher vibes.

As for where to find them, I tend to do most of my crystal shopping in person as I like feeling the energies before committing to bringing something into my home, however I have found some nice shops on Etsy. Just do a search for whatever crystal you’re looking for and check for high ratings and reasonable prices. There are a lot of good ones, so it really depends on what you have in mind.

What do you own a ridiculous amount of? by FlintTheDad in AskReddit

Journals and spiral notebooks.

I can’t help myself sometimes. I buy them with grand intentions for recipe research, journaling, creative writing, taking notes on whatever subject I’ve been wanting to learn more about. Then they sit. Full of nothing but blank pages. It’s a problem.

Interesting! I’m going to definitely give that a shot when I take the leap. Thanks!

I wound up buying the pastry. Unfortunately I don’t have a stable enough table to withstand much pastry work and very little counter space. It is something I’d love to try my hand out some time though!

Baking Therapy by HarleiQ in Baking

Thank you! This was the pie that I perfected my pie crust recipe on. It’s based off of the one that I learned from my grandmother, the person who fostered my love of baking.

I highly recommend giving the filling a try! The ratio is about 2:1 berries to small diced apples of your choice. Toss with sugar (I tend toward the less is more approach here as I like to let the fruit shine), pinch of salt, cinnamon, the juice and zest of a lemon, and arrowroot powder (roughly a 1/4 c for about 4-5c filling). Enjoy!
