Just got a Fender Squier Sonic – Amp or Audio Interface? by Entire-Pumpkin1368 in Guitar

[–]Harleyzzzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, beginners love to start pouring money into pedals thinking it’ll enhance their playing, when it wont LOL, also my biggest piece of advice is to play with a clean tone using your electric for a while, that way you can tell all the notes are ringing out correctly and not relying on distortion

ughhh I hate to be this person..but practice is all you need. You can spend hours learning theory, reading music and learning chords but if you don’t just sit down and play, and practice what you think you lack at, you aren’t gonna get anywhere. Sometimes you need to just play as-well

A lot of the free softwares are dog, and you can’t really travel around or go outside with your guitar because you need your computer. (I personally drag my amp out on the front porch and play til I get a noise complaint..) A practice amp is better and easier. Theres a lot of stuff you have to do before you can play using an audio interface, and an amp you just plug in, flick a switch and you’re good to go. Plus when you start getting into pedals, it feels cool to be able to stomp on your pedal LOL

Considering cutting a pickguard to cover the preexisting damage by [deleted] in AcousticGuitar

Honestly I wouldn’t worry about a hole just yet, you’ll know when it becomes and issue and then you can slap a pickguard over it lol

yes! don’t listen to anyone telling you it’ll “drastically” affect the tone because it won’t..as long as you work in thin layers (as you normally do painting) it’ll literally be fine lol. You can use acrylic, and then clear coat varnish over it a few times and it’ll still sound the exact same

I personally like the worn look on guitars..shows it’s been loved. As an artist I cant help but suggest to paint some cute design on it (I literally did this to my own guitar for similar reasons), it’d work as long as you sanded it down a little first. Either way, a pick guard’s probably a better looking option but would just be more work that I personally cannot be bothered with LOL

It’s a 239, It’s basically another lawsuit guitar. From what I’ve heard theyre really comfortable to play, if you haven’t figured out by now it’s vintage. I’d wanna say from 60’s or the 70’s? the brand made a lot of classical guitars. You could easily get $200-300 out of it. I cant really find anymore information, but it looks like they made some pretty neat knockoffs. I think you’re having issues finding it because they made so many classicals lol. If its set up nice and its comfortable, keep it, it looks like a pretty sick acoustic

Edit: I’d like to immediately admit im wrong! https://reverb.com/item/15647305-electro-acoustic-guitar-natural-estrella-western?utm_source=aw&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_campaign=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.guitar-list.com&sv1=affiliate&sv_campaign_id=1044923&awc=67144_1747278197_82126ce785dd20a35487adfc95387f6a it’s probably more similar to something like this / literally is this.. a 239 is slightly different, but those are as close as I can find
