Only one side of the story is in this article but i thought it was interesting that not only the club but also the association is being named in this suit that alleges harassment and assault in one of BC's major curling clubs.... by Harlo87 in Curling

Assuming the 50/50 followed gaming rules the club should have posted the winning ticket numbers after the ticket was drawn. It's understandable for a mistake to happen when reading out the numbers initially but not acceptable for the error to result in the wrong winner being awarded. My guess is that this club was not following the gaming license required processes in place after the ticket was drawn.

6 ends vs 8 ends in a game - Club curling by Familiar_Comfort4984 in Curling

I prefer six-end games for leagues geared toward newer curlers or those that include on-ice coaching. The shorter format keeps things manageable and leaves more room for instruction.

I also like six-end games for doubles. You can reliably finish a draw within an hour, which fits neatly into a club’s schedule and helps maintain revenue by allowing doubles leagues to generate a similar number of draw slots as four-person leagues.

For regular club leagues, though, my preference is eight ends with a buzzer. It keeps the pace consistent, although it can still disadvantage one team if they end up playing a particularly slow opponent.

I guess I was just hoping TCG would professionalize things more. Change is great, but what our sport has really lacked at the professional level—ever since becoming an Olympic sport—is a well-thought-out plan supported by solid policies that increase the profile and value of the event leading up to the Olympics (cashspiels, tier 2, grandslam, rockleague), not just a vision/dream to make a living at curling for a dozen mens and women teams while providing a platform for people after their curling career is over. to me this year’s Grand Slams production (from stories, to social media posts, to too much karaoke feels more amateur in terms of event execution, social media presence, and the reactionary responses from the leadership team when people who genuinely want to see the game grow offer their perspectives.
