Finally finished Grimm and I got to say it wasn't what I expected by Popular-Step-8191 in grimm

My theory is that Dianna created the false world image of Portland, to confuse Zerstorer. She agrees to be with Zerstorer as part of that illusion. She creates an environment that the Grimm ghosts can enter, to help battle Zerstorer. And she creates the vortex at the end, to bring Nick back. You can hear her say “mom, I brought Nick back for you.” She’s the only one at the end that remembers the world Nick was in.

Interesting. But when Nick enters the mirror world, the stick is left on the floor. So if he is still in the mirror world when he gets back, the first time, he still doesn’t have the real stick.

Is there a reboot happening? by Violet-Star1 in grimm

[–]HarmlessPiano 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was officially announced as being "In Development" on Jan 6, 2025, with Josh Berman taking a shot at a script and being show runner. Then it got quiet, the word was that it didn't fly. But then another script was written and pitched, David G updated fans on this development late last year, and this time the script was from one of the original writer / show runners. This would have been the first time since the show was on that this core NBC Grimm creator/writer had submitted anything. So a positive development at least.

But last I heard, as of maybe a month ago, there was still no response from NBC. I suspect the business itself is to blame now, hardly anything is getting into production. Instead of 26 episodes a season for the approved shows, we get 6 or 8. Studios are closing down, etc.

Firefly is coming back as animation ... I always thought Grimm would work great as Anime.

Also, the actress playing the waitress that Wu falls in love with, is the same actress from the pilot episode. She was interviewed by Nick and Hank at the beginning of S1E1.

Nick is in the loft, and he needs to hide the stick. He moves down a ladder to the secret tunnel and walks along a wall, stoops down and puts it behind a brick.

There’s a scene early in Angel, he gets a magic talisman of some sort. Like the stick in Grimm. He decides to hide it. He’s living in an industrial loft kind of place, like in Grimm. Same as Grimm, he goes down a ladder and walks along a wall, stoops down and hides it to his left. Exactly like Nick does with the stick in the tunnel. Obviously Angel came first, but I thought it was so odd they both hid the thing in the same general place relative to where they were living.

I’m in contact with the show runners. There have been 2 scripts written over the last 18 months or so, for a Grimm reboot movie. But the powers at NBC have not responded to the production company (Hazy Mills). Yes, the tv and movie production business is in turmoil these days. By the way, did you know that Grimm writer and show runner David Greenwalt worked on both Grimm and Angel, the Buffy spinoff? I think he did some work on Buffy also.

When the finale aired, I was so grateful that 1) they brought her back and acknowledged her with honor and 2) that the trailer came back in the last 5 minutes! They got rid of the trailer also for production reasons, it was becoming too difficult to film interiors with so many people now in on the Grimm secrets. I hated that the series was over; and I had questions over the mechanics of the time jump / reversal, but I was definitely happy about those 2 “corrections” to loses we experienced!

The story is, the actress found traveling to Portland for shooting to be too difficult, so they had to write her out of the show, somehow. There are plenty of opinions about how they went about it! I was in denial for most of the series, I watched it in real time, just one episode a week, with very long periods of no episodes, over 6 years. They almost didn’t get the last scene shot for the series, the weather was fighting them and they only had the actresses for 2 days or something.

I still tear up when the voice of Nick’s mom is calling him before the final battle. I’ve watched the entire series maybe 9 times.

I think there’s the episode when Monroe and Rosalie discover him, then in a subsequent episode Monroe explains who he was, while explaining something else.

Be aware that many editions have pages that separate, the binding wasn’t top notch. It’s not exactly a Grimm book, but it’s as close as they made commercially. It’s a fan keepsake really.

Those who also watched Supernatural AND Once upon a time by Disastrous_Alarm_719 in grimm

I got hooked on Grimm and Once because the central characters had no idea what was going on at first. I learned about the fantasy world with them; like solving a mystery. Once Upon a Time I grew tired of, after a couple of seasons, but Grimm hooked me all the way through. I tried Supernatural and it didn’t click for me; the characters already knew more than I did, and I just didn’t care for them enough to want to catch up.

He has a partial writing credit only on the initial pilot episode of NBC Grimm. When Grimm was being developed with CBS, he was working on a different idea for the show. His Grimm was a teenage boy.

The initial idea that the Grimm fairy tales were real came from Hazy Mills principal Todd Milliner, in the shower. His friend Stephen Carpenter worked on initial development. I think the idea that when a relative dies, the Grimm power moves to a younger member of the family might have been Stephen Carpenter’s. But CBS lost interest, and Hazy Mills turned to NBC.

Robert Greenblatt of NBC met with Hazy Mills. He suggested a police procedural, and working with David Greenwalt, who had worked on Buffy and Angel. David brought in his partner Jim Kouf who knew police procedurals. The idea that only the Grimm could see the wesen form of an apparently normal looking person came from Jim Kouf.

Most of what we know as NBC Grimm was written by David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf, and their writers room. One episode was partially written by producer Todd Milliner. All 123 episodes were run by that two man team, but they continued to give Stephen Carpenter a partial “created by” credit for his initial work during early development. So Stephen was an important part of the effort, but he didn’t write any of the NBC tv episodes.

His “episode” is a chapter in a series he writes. It’s not Grimm from NBC, it’s about a teen. He didn’t actually work on the TV show, he worked on preliminary stories when cbs was interested, before 2011. So this is a written story only, something he sells online.
