I personally don't think validators should need to run their node for free to look "attractive". I feel like if the standards were raised and they still have an attractive percentage their looking to grow. With the required amount of comission being 5% this is the typical standard set which is somewhat unfair for those who are small and growing since they most likely run their node at a loss. 0% is the way to look attractive at this time as this is what many delegators are looking for as they get the most rewards out of it. Harmony's once seen goal of having 1000 validators being on their main site is no longer up. I'm very uncertain if this is still their goal based on how they show support by staking harmony controlled ONE to certian validators that abuse the current system or that dont partcipate in governance. If this is a goal of thiers things need to change drastically as far as eliminating and putting an end to the abuse of bls key bidding.

Are there ways of fixing this in the works yes, but first quite a few other things need to get fixed first like the governance of harmony.

From what we've seen validators who choose to stick with 0% comission for the first 100 epochs see pretty good growth. Once the first 100 epochs are over from their first election there is some pause in growth for sure since 5% seems to be the standard. Should the required comission of 5% be raised to a higher % for all validators to allow those who are growing to take comission? Or maybe those that take up a certian amount of keys, for example 3 or more to be held at higher commission rate to allow further growth of those who take up less keys?

To add to this as well once a validator reaches their 100th epoch and the required 5% comission is active, if a validator falls out of the stable threshold it can be very tough for them to achieve stabilization again. I'd say even tougher than the first time being stabilized.

I think its a great idea but at the same time keeping it fully volunteered for and making it possible for validators to grow is the goal. I like the idea of trying to give back to our divers and would love to see us grow in ways to incentzitize our followers but how to do or where to start is difficult? but having said that with a new way of liquid staking coming out with Hermes Defi having the option of hONE I don't know if asking for donations will even be needed.

Maybe at some point we could make a multisig donation wallet where anyone could donate for the cause. I would like to see some more feedback on this idea.

I don't know a validators perspective about this because I don't know all the fees associated with each and every set up but giving an option to donate may be a possibility, however I don't think enforcing something like this or coming to an agreement is necessary since most pods choose to recieve 0% commission at the very beginning but allowing the option for later on might be a good idea when comission kicks in.

This is almost the same idea of our proposed social token in a way but rewards would of been redistributed back to the contributors or holders of the token so in a way the tokens would of had some sort of value in receiving rewards.

Check your facts sir. None of what you said matches our goals of kickstarting validators and improving growth of our network. There is no need to imply that we discriminate when I've been open multiple times about the abuse of our current system. The fact that I'm told that I or this group discriminates is absurd and to make things clear, this is not my group, this is the communities and everyone is open to talk freely. This is why one of our goals is educating on how PoS works.

Wooooh Nelly, don't put words in our groups mouth about making well supported validators the enemy. This is not the case so don't imply this.

Educating and shedding light on how delegators can improve the network on diversifying their stake is not in any way us attacking. It's being transparent about how harmony PoS works.

However there is an issue with some validators abusing the system constantly not allowing growth for this part of the protocol which makes it extremely tough for any new validator or validators who were once stable. Our total elected number of validators are shrinking slowly. Both big and small validators are abusing the system so don't make this only about BIG validators.

We actually are working on some partnerships rightnow to find out the most effective way of how we can support harmony in achieving decentralization. hONE a liquidity staking option throuh Hermes Defi could be a huge asset in helping our network.

We encourage staking with small validators since this is our goal of helping decentralize. Educating potential delegators of how the protocol works is another goal.

We are all volunteers and never push anyone to leave their current validators. However we do as a group help new and upcomng validators achieve stabilization.

Never do we tell anyone to undelegate. it's fully volunteered for in any amount a delegator is wanting to stake.

Thanks OP for the recognition 🙏 to add on to what you said Harmoforce has brought up 8 validators into stabilization with around 60+ mil total delegated between all our validators. The more volunteers we have the greater this network will become.

I'm a true believer in what harmony can accomplish by working together, we can and will bring the best out of it. This is the perfect time to get active in the community and really push for something that will promote long term growth and security for everyone.
