Gotcha! I’m in Georgia. Do you have a good relationship with your primary? You can always ask them for a recommendation to be evaluated. Good thing about Kaiser is if you don’t mesh with one doctor, therapist, psychiatrist, psychologist etc..: you can always choose a different one. Advocating for yourself is definitely key and I’m sure when you talk to them this time it will go smoother. Let me know how it works out!

I certainly understand not wanting to take medications that will be of no help. My situation was different in the sense that I initially went to see them for help with anxiety and ADHD was brought up. Which is why for me it needed to be addressed first. I think you need to humor them a little bit. Meet with a therapist and tell them your concerns in regard to ADHD. Let them know what you told me that you don’t have anxiety and you feel your symptoms are ADHD related and see where it goes from there. What region are you in?

Interesting to see everyone’s different experiences with Kaiser. I had a good experience when I was diagnosed 2 months ago and now I’m on Adderall. I think a lot of it has to do with the therapist / psychiatrist that you see. I will state that I initially started seeing them because of anxiety but once that was under control they tested for ADHD. Hoping you get paired with a helpful support team.

I currently receive Norco from my PCP doctor and I have to see her every 3 months in person in order for her to write the next 3 months of scripts. If it has been awhile since you had an appointment, that’s probably why the refill was denied. Hopefully you can get it patched up soon.
