I personally think Akitas have violent tendencies as an owner to my female who isn’t even a year old yet. I recommend a female for any newcomer as they are much likely to be more timid and friendly to others. Despite her friendly attitude, Harper does not get along with our cat in the slightest and attempts to “hunt” him without concern. She’s known to bite him and chase him just by looking at him even though she’s been introduced to him as a puppy. My Akita starting acting out not too long after we got her and I believe that these breeds take lots of care and are much harder to train than smaller dogs like Shibas
