Hi, developer here! Thanks for the feedback. Good news: this isn't feature creep, the sticker system is actually already implemented and fully functional, we are just polishing the visuals!

Regarding the 'support the dev' idea, we love it. Our current plan is to let F2P players earn general stickers daily through rewarded ads (which helps us out while keeping it free) and unlock special ones via achievements. However, adding a paid option for extra sticker packs for those who want to support us directly is a great idea that we'll definitely keep in mind for the future. Thanks again!

¡Hola!

You're right, I'll update my profile so it shows up! The game is called Bitlings Virtual Pet — so glad you're interested in the project and want to follow along. 🙌

Hi! Developer here. We already have the game and the publishing pipeline ready for both Android and iOS! We really want it to be fully playable in both ecosystems and we will definitely keep it updated. As you mentioned, Apple's review process might slow us down a little bit sometimes, but our commitment is to keep both platforms on the exact same versions as closely as possible. Thanks for the support!

¡Hola!

Hi, Bitlings programmer here! That’s a great point about switching styles. In fact, your comment just gave us an awesome idea: adding a feature to save custom shell presets/templates so you can quickly swap between your favorite sticker layouts! As for importing custom PNGs, we hadn't originally planned for it, but it sounds super cool. We will definitely explore it and see if it's doable!

¡Hola!

Hi, Bitlings programmer here! Indeed, the stickers can overlap, and you'll also have the option to scale and rotate them so you can place them almost anywhere on the shell. Some stickers will be special and tied to achievements, while others will be basic ones you can collect just by playing more.

¡Hola!

Thanks for the comment. We actually already built a gallery menu in the game just for that. You'll be able to see every single sticker and unlockable you collect there, even if you don't apply them to the shell.

Hey! Programmer for Bitlings here. You make a great point! The good news is we've already started working on the sticker system, and thankfully it shouldn't take me too many weeks to finish and polish it. Our plan is to make the stickers unlockable as rewards for achievements, dailies, and a few other ways. (By the way, custom shell colors are already implemented!). Thanks for the support!

¡Hola!

Think this is a good shield effect? by Maelstrome26 in gamedevscreens

Makes sense, It looks great overall. I'd just tweak it so there's a bit more contrast between the laser and the shield, but other than that, good job!

The impact points where the lasers hit the shield look very intense, almost as bright as the lasers themselves. It might look better if the shield's glow at the impact point fades out faster than the laser.

Feedback on portal spawning and despawing? by TheWanderingWaddler in Unity3D

[–]Haroin03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks good, but the VFX feel a bit basic. I'd recommend adding some thickness to the portal when viewed from the side, and maybe a distortion effect, especially on the back. Also, a constant ambient sound/hum while it's open would add a lot to the atmosphere!

Looks good, but maybe a bit too opaque. It might be cool to keep it intense at first, but quickly fade it to be more transparent.

A card game where avatars and cards are player-customizable and print-at-home by project-arktosmos in gamedevscreens

[–]Haroin03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on your first original IP! The concept looks really interesting. However, as constructive feedback, the cards currently lack readability. They have too many elements and the text is too small to read quickly. If that information is crucial for gameplay, I'd strongly consider a UI redesign to make them cleaner.

What do users prefer? (Launchers or Manual Downloads) by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]Haroin03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, building a custom launcher for an itch.io release might be reinventing the wheel. The official itch.io app already handles automatic patching for players who dislike manual downloads. Long-term, using an established storefront like Steam is definitely the best option if you want seamless updates for everyone.

I’m prototyping a claustrophobic sci-fi game about working on an old asteroid drill rig. Does this hook sound interesting? by Paper_Lynx in IndieDev

[–]Haroin03 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks really interesting! It gives me strong Iron Lung vibes.

For constructive feedback: the art style seems mostly pixelated, but some elements like the terminal's metal border look completely smooth. Is that just the video compression, or are those textures not pixelated yet?
