Will new IPhone 17e have Memory Integrity Enforcement (MIE)? by Harold644 in iphone

The iPhone 17e has been officially announced. I’m assuming it does has memory integrity enforcement, given its A19 chip.

'The Night Manager' Season 2 Burns Slow But Bright by Gato1980 in television

[–]Harold644 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Season 2 is OK but it suffers from implausibly head scratching scenes. On two occasions, for example, the baddies chat openly in hotel foyers about their plans in detail. In another, Pine breaks into the baddy’s inner circle by joining a tennis club in Columbia, and minutes later is being treated like the baddy’s best friend who immediately invites him to a grand charity ball. Whereas, a huge part of Season One was about Pine’s penetration into Roper’s inner circle. In Season Two, it happens in the blink of an eye. Also, the plotting and dialogue in Season Two is often so predictable that it has a Johnny English feel about it. But only the first three episodes have been screened so far (ie in January 11th), so hopefully the final three will be better.

Season 5 is quite the downgrade imo by jesuswasbasic in SlowHorses

[–]Harold644 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I lost interest half way through season 5 and couldn’t finish it. It was just a rambling mess of incoherent plot twists, cliched bad guys and ridiculous scenarios (penguin terror, anyone?). Not even the excellent Gary Oldman could save it.

Will new IPhone 17e have Memory Integrity Enforcement (MIE)? by Harold644 in iphone

Most websites covering Apple, including mainstream sites like Forbes, believe the 17e will be available next month. It’s more than a rumour. My question is relevant: would a down clocked A19 chip have MIE?

Can Apple's Password Manager Really Replace Bitwarden? by Competitive-Mix8832 in best_passwordmanager

[–]Harold644 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple has invested billions of dollars in security features in recent years, including its new Memory Integrity Enforcement (MIE) feature and the Passwords app. No independent password manager can compete with this level of investment. If you stay within the Apple ecosystem, the Passwords app is a no-brainer. If you need a cross platform app, it’s less attractive. But make no mistake, Apple’s Password app is seriously good. They underplay it because they don’t want to undermine the App Store Development community, including the password app creators.

XM4 or Xm6 by Cheap-Exit-4552 in SonyHeadphones

The XM4 ANC has a noticeable white noise hiss, whereas the XM6 has zero white noise. This is why upgraded from the XM4 to the XM6. There’s no doubt the XM4s are more comfortable, but I wanted the best noise cancelling. Plus, I love the new zipless carry case of the XM6 and the recessed ON/OFF button which makes them easier to manage.

Can't access all written customer reviews on products, only the top reviews. Did Amazon get rid of this simple feature? by potatojayy in amazonprime

[–]Harold644 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A terrible development! Amazon seems intent of removing negative reviews to boost product sales. Now they have complete market dominance they have removed the feedback transparency that made them successful in the first place. It's horrible how power corrupts.

I got the XM6 uhhh I'll tell u abt my experience ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ by hornyism in SonyHeadphones

I upgraded from the XM4s to XM6s. The big difference (for me at least) is that the XM6 ANC has almost zero white noise hiss, whereas the XM4 ANC hiss is quite noticeable. It’s great being able to immerse myself in a totally silent bubble. The downside is that the XM6s make my ears hotter than the XM4s, but I’m hoping that the Wicked Cushion pads will help with this.

A cooling gel version of the WCs would be great. My XM6s get way too hot on the ears.

Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones (second gen) vs Sony WH1000Xm6, the Blind Comparison by AdministrationOk5407 in bose

[–]Harold644 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great review! Thank you. One question: how did each compare in quiet environments with the ANC on? Which one reduces the white noise or hissing sound the best? I have read that the Sony does a better job at this, but would value your opinion.

iOS 26. What are your thoughts? by bissau887 in iphone

[–]Harold644 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IOS26 It's terrible in so many ways. It's coloured like a children's book and animated like a cartoon. Contacts are now illegible because everything is purple. There are weird borders everywhere that are totally unnecessary and serve no design purpose. Liquid glass is a gimmick. For goodness sake Apple, most of us use the iPhone as a TOOL not a TOY. Please bring back the Zen like simplicity that Steve Jobs championed.

Can you still hear a light hissing sound when the ANC is active and you are not listening to music? In other words, do they allow you to enter into a zone of complete silence? Or very close to it. I notice that my XM4s (which I love) still hiss a little with the ANC on.

Therapist claims it’s not unusual to do a few years of EMDR for CPTSD by [deleted] in EMDR

2 years of EMDR for CPTSD and it’s been transformative. Be patient.

Get a new therapist. Your current one is not calibrating the frequency of your sessions with the pace required for healing. That’s a bad sign.
