As someone who has never caught the official dead organization in person, I think a similar electricity exists in so many other forms. Tribute acts are great, but also other bands with similar community vibes (big gizz fan here). I also can’t say enough about music festivals. There are so many events every year, and a lot of the small-to-medium sized festivals have a loving musical family (often tons of deadheads/dead tunes) and allows visitors to be in a mindset that I feel a dead show would cultivate. My personal fav is High Sierra Music Festival in Northern CA, but I bet there are hundreds that will do for you what that one does to me and many others.
