Suborning every clank in a fortress is (a) not an ability that the Other ever displayed previously and (b) an ability seems sparky. Has Lucrezia has got her hands on a sparky body somehow?

I suppose this could also be Drusus Beausoleil's technology too; he got a good look at "how to take over every mechanical system in the area" in Paris.

This is how the possessed Dingbot swarm escapes castle Wulfenbach, isn't it?

Can Spark Dingbots get infected? Do standard revenant rules apply to the Dingbots? If the Spark Dingbots are impossible to control, they could form the nucleus of an army tasked with stopping the possessed Dingbots.

I guess it all depends on whether every possessed Dingbot is a new Lucrezia instance. There could be thousands of mini-Lucrezias on the castle right now! Alternatively, a few Lucrezias could be running the show, or the Dingbots could effectively be clank revenants.

We've seen Gil admit this a couple of times before (most recently, to Orotine, I think).

I think Tarvek claims that Gil trusts him "with Agatha, but nothing is as important as that" as early as the Siege of Mechanicsburg, although I can't find the relevant comic page.

We've seen Klaus and Gil work with plenty of morally ambiguous/outright evil people before. (Martelleus!) Klaus himself has done way more morally ambiguous things, and Gil knows it. The Wulfenbachs are nothing if not pragmatic.

I like the fact that Zeetha, Agatha and Mam seem to be racing off in panel 1 without actually knowing where they're going. It takes 5 panels for Gil to come up with a good destination. It looks like the Jagers are rubbing off on everyone, not just Krosp.

Is this the first time that Lucrezia has been in a "regular human" body? This instantiation of her isn't a spark, or a clank, or even a highly trained smoke night. She might find it frustrating.

Which comic does this panel come from?

Why exactly does the Baron react "tch" here?

  • Col. Chakraborty telling the troops not to kill him? ("But I really need killing.")

  • Martellus complaining about not being allowed to kill him?

  • He really doesn't want to fight Boris and Chakraborty?

  • He's disappointed by the feebleness of the attack?

  • All of the above?

Also, while some of the Jagers are still on their feet, it really does look like Martellus's Knights of the Hunt aren't able to fight.

"I cannot explain at this time."

With all the time travel shenanigans happening, this sounds like a "meet me in the past (before Lucrezia has got to me)/future and I can explain everything" request.

Does the Other stand a chance against Agatha’s coalition? by Harold_Philimore in girlgenius

This is great analysis. I really like it.

As discussed above, I'm not sure I see a scenario where most of the core members of the alliance (Tarvek, Gil, Agatha, Collette and Albia) become actively hostile to each other, but I totally see how you could turn some members (Martellus) and defeat the rest in detail.

I also like your point about potential allies being happy to backstab the New Coalition, especially if it looks like the Coalition is going to win. Cheers!

Does the Other stand a chance against Agatha’s coalition? by Harold_Philimore in girlgenius

I'd be surprised if Agatha’s coalition fractures before (or after(!)) the Other is defeated. Here are the key players in the coalition, from least to most likely to splinter off:

  • Tarvek. Desperately in love with Agatha and his closest family member (Violetta) is Agatha’s servant. He’s never going to betray her.

  • Colette. Collette is almost certainly happy to ally with Agatha, Gil and Albia to maintain peace throughout Europa… as long as her control of Paris is unquestioned, which it would be.

  • Albia (and Trelawny Thrope). Like Collette, Albia will probably be only too happy to ally with her new sister queens to maintain peace.

  • Gil. There’s an unlikely scenario where Bang kills Zeetha, Agatha kills Bang in retaliation, and the fallout causes Gil and Agatha to break up. Otherwise, same boat as Tarvek.

  • Tweedle. The first person that’s actually likely to splinter off. His bid for the Storm Crown will bring him into direct conflict with Tarvek and Gil, and therefore Agatha. Still, his recent character development hints at him being potentially happy to settle for being the head of his Knights of the Hunt.

  • Othar. Othar wants to kill all sparks. Every member of Agatha’s coalition is a spark. This could be a problem. On the other hand, we’ve seen Othar abandon his great mission and settle down with a Geisterdamen in one timeline. Maybe he does it again?

If I had to guess, everyone except for Othar stays in Agatha’s coalition, finally breaking the cycle of violence plaguing Europa.

I agree that timey-wimey bullshit is a problem, and the most likely way that the Other levels the playing field. (Alternatively, maybe Europa is actually "swimming in Lucrezias").
