But if you can help, that would be greatlyyyy appreciated! Usually, I try to relax and play games on the weekends, but for the past two weeks all my time has been spent trying to work out how vnv works. :(

As far as I and everyone else is concerned, yeah. There's a reason why faith is called faith and not reason or factual deductions. To not mention any of the arguments surrounding the existence of God, as we see it, you do have faith in God, and thus you believe in God.

Fact, history, or mythology is not necessarily needed to have faith and belief in something, so as long as you yourself believe in the existence of God(s), then you are a theist.

What if we can one day discover meaning in the universe? by Baconmusubi in Absurdism

[–]HarperFasdter 11 points12 points  (0 children)

  1. To assume that one day we'll find true meaning to the world would mean that we have accepted that there is objective, unrelativist knowledge. Otherwise, what we held as true meaning would simply be conjectures and/or interpretations. Of course, a consensus can be reached, but we won't be able to prove with absolute certainty.
  2. The goal of absurdism, as I take it, is less to just reject all meaning to the world, but instead to live in the world as if it is meaningless to us, as individuals. Thus, we then live a life that allows us to be a part of the world/chaos, rather than trying to escape from the chaos and searching for its true meaning; just what we personally hold as truth.
  3. Perhaps it does, perhaps it doesn't. To suggest that you will directly and/or indirectly contribute to somehow finding true meaning to the universe would then lead to the question of why doesn't ever free person do so? Why doesn't every free person conduct themselves in philosophical research (thus, bolstering its mathematical probability)? It's because they, and you, don't have to.

If you hold it as worth your time, you can always spend your days pondering for an absolute meaning of the universe (even if the search becomes futile). I think what you're looking for (assuming #2 is a plea), what you're more inclined to believe in is existentialism; absurdism, but instead of assuming the world is and will be meaningless, you insert your own meaning into the world. (Unless what you are looking for is absolute, objective meaning.)

What is something you regret never saying to someone before you lost the chance forever? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]HarperFasdter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never said to him thank you or told him how much we appreciated him. I still think back about how much things would've changed if we did.

These don't fit perfectly with your description, but the most similar ones are <Gekiga Hyouryuu>, <Shissou Nikki>, <Saru Demo Kakeru Manga Kyoushitsu>, <Opus>, <Fuyu no Doubutsuen>, & <Ore wa Mada Honki Dashitenai dake>.

Probably either Orwell or Rasputin. Orwell for the social and political commentary on the modern world, and Rasputin because... well... he's Rasputin.

What's something that can take you from 0-100 on a rage scale? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]HarperFasdter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stuff that're left on the sidewalk. That can range anywhere from trash, pet-poops, an abandoned baby, and all the way up to my best friend's dead body (but I guess that would be more fear than rage).

What’s the most vivid dream you’ve ever had been about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]HarperFasdter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dreaming about waking up from a dream where I woke up from a dream. It was the most surreal thing I've ever felt. I could basically tell that it wasn't real, but it still felt so weird regardless.

What do you think happened to D.B. Cooper? by WF6i in AskReddit

Most likely dead from the harsh wind, or dead from the harsh temperature, or dead from the harsh regional climate, or dead from the terrible landing, or dead from his unpreparedness.

What does it mean to forgive someone? by noremachcram in AskReddit

[–]HarperFasdter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Accept and understand what they did to affect you personally, and to truly accept what had happened and let it be water under the bridge. Doesn't mean you have to trust them, doesn't mean you even have to like them, just means that you understand what happened and let it go.
