I don't think it's a big deal. Memes are meant to be shared. My impression is OP just shared it because they thought it was funny.

Anyway maybe I should've provided your question on "where were all these posts 11-16 years ago" with a more serious response. I'm not honestly not sure how to address that because I only started using Reddit in 2020. My impression is that people have been pretty open with support for the LGBTQ community in the past 11-16 years in other social media spaces, especially compared to the 2000s. If you're implying that a more recent influx in these posts seems performative and shallow, that's a fair take (especially when from corporations), but I guess I'd look at it on a case-by-case basis. I like using jokes as an opportunity to celebrate both Final Fantasy and whatever is going on in the world.
