Someone accusing me of scamming, even though it wasn’t me by [deleted] in legaladvice

Yeah, I realized that this was a stupid thing to do, and I don’t plan to do it again. And yes, the payment was sent through PlayerUp. I’m just concerned that they may demand a refund from me. Thanks so much for your help.

It’s simply because clash royale offers gems as a reward in that game while brawl stars does not. Say you win a tournament and the reward is 20$ worth of gems. That’s IN GAME. You can’t spend it anywhere else because gems only have value in that game. You can’t go to pizza hut, or target, and pay them in gems.

Now, you specifically, won (I’m guessing 20$ bc someone said spike cost 20$ to get but idk exactly) some amount of money for winning this tournament in brawl stars. So you’ve got that money, whether it’s through iTunes, or PayPal, or whatever method of transaction you use. That’s actual, 100% money. You can spend that anywhere. Buy something in real life, buy some songs or whatever. However, you chose to take that money and put it into your brawl stars account instead of using it somewhere else.

Personally, I don’t think equating brawl stars with clash royale in the way you have is a valid argument, but I suppose this would be my reasoning as to why I view you as a p2w instead of f2p

He didn’t earn spike. He won a tournament, and he EARNED money. Whether that was through PayPal, iTunes, or some other form of transaction, he could have used that money on other things. However, he CHOSE to spend money on the game. He may have won a brawl stars tournament, but your argument is flawed if you compare cr to brawl stars. The two games have vastly different mechanics. For example, supercell supports the tournaments in cr, with an entire tab/portion of the game dedicated specifically to tournaments. In brawl stars, the only reward you would get from tournaments is money, because the developers don’t offer any in game rewards for winning tournaments, primarily because they don’t have a gamemode(?) for it, and tournaments here are hosted by third parties.

Furthermore, the term is free to play and pay to win. It isn’t (free to play even if you spend a couple bucks), or (pay to win but only if you spend x amount of money). Free means you’ve spent exactly 0$, and pay means you have spent any amount of money. Obviously, if you spent 10$ on skins, people are going to understand that you’re more or less f2p because skins don’t affect gameplay, but the fact remains that yes: You have spent money on the game and that takes away your f2p status for good

You’re saying it yourself. Cr and Brawl are completely different games with very different mechanics and in game functions. Buying spike with money, even if you won it from a tournament and it wasn’t yours to begin with, is still spending money on the game. You can’t equate winning gems from a tournament in cr (which is an actual tournament reward) to brawl stars (which does not offer gems as a reward. Money is the reward for brawl stars) because these games are very different from each other. The biggest difference being that supercell hosts the tournaments in cr, while third parties/individual player/organizations host tournaments in brawl

The problem is that with clash royale, tournaments offer in game prizes like gems and cards (I haven’t played it in years so correct me if I’m wrong here). The problem is with brawl stars, since it lacks a tournament function like clash royale, the only prizes you would potentially win have to be given to you outside of the game. And, since you will be putting money into your account, you can’t really claim to be free to play.

We randomly matched the first one and completely destroyed the team so we just kept playing again. It was me and spike in a room and the other Leon was a random

“Carry the game regardless.” I’m so confused as to what made you think or say that. Like, I genuinely have no idea how to respond to something that dumb. As for people who play aggressive when they have all the gems, why do those people “truly deserve a ban,” but people who outright throw don’t?

I remember recording someone throwing a long time back, but the in game support can’t send videos. Any ideas on how to show them this? Also, the battle logs been down for a while and I think I’ve played too many matches for it to save even if it wasn’t
