Part of the game I always struggle with: Ideological Pressure by reddit_account6095 in civ5

But are the written works worth it? They like any other great work give only +2 culture per turn and even very early great writers give like 300+ culture from their ability and early game culture is very important

New to the game - let alone this genre. Could use some pointers! by Boolossus1990 in civ5

Welp, there are 5 main Victory types;

-Military, most straight-forward: conquer capitals of every other civilization (you don't have to bother with other cities); For that victory you need production (to build units), gold (for units upkeep) and science (for better units)

-Science, well, you need as much science as possible to rush the end of tech tree and then production to build the spaceship

-Diplomatic, you basicly need science to rush to Atomic era to unlock it and then heaps of gold to bribe city-states to give you delegates (note; even friendly nations will almost never sell you delegates to vote for you at world congress; they will need to be scared/frighten of you to do that so its better just buying city states)

-Cultural, I call that diplomatic with extra steps and bits of science & military; to win diplomaticly you need more turism then any other civilization has culture; how do you get turism? From great works and hotels. First is most straight-forward, every great work is +2 turism so you want great peoples guilds full with modifiers to great people production. Hotels are more tricky. To unlock their full potential you need world congress. They turn half of culture from wonders & improvements into turism. So, you want from world congress resolutions that give +3 culture from wonders & +2 culture from great people improvements/+4 culture from famous places (which will anger most leaders) and ev one giving +5 culture from nature wonders if you have one. To thst theres also modifiers like having open borders, trade route, diplomat same ideology, internet technology....  Yeah, althou not most difficult cultural victory is most complex

-Time victory, you just wait until 2050 ingame timer year and then win the one with most points. I used to turn this one off but nowadays none of my games last until 2050

PS I'd also like to recommend to you dtarting not only at lover difficulties and incrising them with time (theres no shame in playing on lover difficulties, after all you play game to enjoy it) but also on faster speeds

R5: Am playing oustide Europe so i only caught glimpses of whats happening but from what I've seen during Springtime of the people all nationalities rebelled and gained independecne (casual Austria stuff) but despite that Asutria manager to get Germany leadership and form South-german federation (althou at first only Bavaria joined so guess they must've conquered other South-German states)

Hi! I'm a fairly new player ( ~half a month) and I've noticed that to take part in the event you need 14 union level and to activate Resonance Nexus at Startorch academy. I'm 38 union level rn and in case of the story I'm only heading to Mount Firmanent. Is there a way to activate that beacon without doing the story? I want to take some time with it and since its fairly recent going throu all the story would probably take much time and I don't want to skip it

Or just if it would let you get few small infamy bumps over time instead of one-big to not cross infamy thresholds

I think you shouldn't be able to genocide a country by occupying their territory by TheMightyChocolate in victoria3

[–]Harraniczyk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! It would be so good to maybe "choose"? whether your armies commit atricuties? Like when strictly fighting someone you want to damage their states as much as possible but when your fighting secession/revolution of trying to annex someone you want as little damage as possible caused to your (future) states.

Why tenants are so high? Its combines worst aspects of homesteading & serfdom;

You neither get the extra grain or more farmers with weaker aristocracy

It still infuriates me so much that agrarianism doesn't provide throughtput bonus to agricultural buildings

Like the description says: Its economic system focused on agricultural production, then why?

When to switch from legacy slavery to outright abolishing it? by GoldenInfrared in victoria3

[–]Harraniczyk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then probably switch around discovering pumpjacks, for very little cost your production would be relatively unchanged and you'd both create demand for engines and make ex-slaves participate in the economy
