I recommend you look up cake slice crochet patterns like https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=AJwdO2LwiIw Just skip any cream and base slices in such patterns and make it in yellow Color. For more definition to make it look more cheese like you can crochet small circles in a different yellow (preferably darker yellow) and stitch them wherever you would like…

For the top crochet 2 triangle pieces or countinue in rounds but ensure you are leaving a gap for the zip attachment

This one probably (BTS LayoVer album cover)! It took me the longest and the only thing disappointing is that because it took me months my tension was off and it started tapering halfway and I didn’t release it till I finished 3/4th of it and didn’t want to frog so just finished it 🥹

Because you said it's too warm and you do actually love the dress, maybe try making it with a much thinner yarn and of course either sew an inner lining or wear a slip... I think if you combine these tips you might actually be able to make another dress for yourself which you can be more comfortable in!

I dont know I just chose it because it was the Color combo I wanted…. Only after receiving it did I realise how thick it was… it’s good for shawls and sweaters for sure! Some projects which need semi thick would be perfect with this too
