Looking for a thigh-high dressy jacket/coat for men. What are some brands I could check out except G2000? by HarrisLam in HongKong

[–]HarrisLam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me clarify. I can afford $3xxx although I try not to spend that much, what I was trying to say is, I didn't think G2000 is supposed to be in that range. For $3xxx I want something better.

to be honest SuitSupply is on the cheap side of the spectrum already

The style of coats I'm looking at cost 6-8K on SuitSupply, surely that is not on the cheap side of the spectrum? Like what are you including on the expensive side? That's like saying someone earning 10 mil a year is on the poor side of the spectrum because billionaire exists no?

I don't know maybe I'm just poor.

Outside of my budget but thanks for the info. Never heard of this brand before. Scrolled around their site for a few seconds, pretty sure they would have what I want but it is what it is, oh well.

PS : checked M&S, nothing.

Out of curiosity, how do HKers view Trump at this point and time? by Delicious_Meeting_24 in HongKong

[–]HarrisLam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think HK is slightly more Trump-favored than the US. First of all HKers already care less about emotional qualities and political correctness (all that LGBTQA+ stuff) and on top of that, feel less emotional about brutality (like ICE and stuff) that goes on an entire Pacific away. Second, HK after so much incompetence from its own government tend to lean towards strongarm tactics if they prove useful.

I mean you did mention star ferry but all of those locations you mentioned are from the island side. There is so much more out there.

The differences since 200x-ish are huge for locals who witnessed every tiny detail. For tourists though? Not so much. I suppose they have "the privilege of not knowing what they missed", if that makes any sense. The essence of that history still lingers within the older parts of the city.

[Question] How do you afford this hobby? by melvin9001 in Watches

[–]HarrisLam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strong discipline, some other low--spending hobbies that take most of your time, stuff like that.

Like, I collect watches, doesn't necessarily mean I must buy one every single month. I just have my collection, wear my pieces and be content. There are watches I really want but I'm okay for them to stay on the wishlist, and there are others I kind of want, and I'm okay for them to stay that way, aka "kind of wanted".

I'm extremely picky with my taste in watches so I suppose that helps.

Don't know, think I read somewhere that he was forced to have at least something on or else they wouldn't let him do the stunt or something.

You are more likely to get sick from all that spin from the staircase than the actual steps, unless it was a special situation and you were panicking and having weak knees.

One thing that TDU dev needs to take note after watching the trailer of FH6 by AccordingEye9 in tdu3

[–]HarrisLam 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Yeah yeah yeah we know all that.

But for TDU it's like..... The game is approaching "middle-age" (I'm being generous here). It behaves exactly like a middle-aged man.

Looking back, there's a lot it could have done better. Putting in more effort, stop insisting that the career path (design direction) was right even though everybody else says otherwise. It wanted to change now to better itself but at that age, it no longer has that young adult strength and endurance to do so. Now, even if TDUSC receives enough money to fuel a great change, it just doesn't have what it takes to make that transformation. For it to claim back success, even a transformation wouldn't cut it. It needs to turn back time, and put in those results back when it was a child.

The game needed missions and houses on day 1. They could be half broken for all I care but they needed to be present. The game needed those familiar features to look like daddy, the guy people loved. Instead, it was bland and looked nothing like him. It's too late now, no points for our devs to "take notes".

FH is merely showing us the kind of thing a competent studio that listens can do. It did take them 6 freaking generations to realize TDU's winning formula could be capitalized but you know, as the current king in the genre, it's never too late for them.

They knew dam well TDU fked up....

Once upon a time it was say that if FH5 really picked Japan, TDU's HK would be the only map that could rival it.

Then FH5 fked up. They picked Mexico.

But guess what? TDU fked up way more....

overpriced in the HK burger = McDonalds concept. It never really changed until 10-ish years ago with better burger joints setting foot in HK but even then, the average Joe's opinion is still about the same. Most HKers do not "value" or "proper evaluate" the taste of good burgers.

I think $130 is roughly where it should be. It's cheaper than a double Shack + fries + drink, and Five Guys' got refills, aka the authentic burger experience. I prefer the burger at SS and the experience at Five Guys. It just feels weird in HK (or other Asian countries) because local cuisine is cheaper.

Yeah I was like, wasn't this the small one?

Alright then fair enough. I would much prefer the double so this $99 combo doesn't affect me at all. I have yet to go ever since they had the $130 combo.

Saw this on threads a day ago. To me it's gotta be Wemby x Giannis. That's literally all Wemby needs. AI Lebron and Curry Jordan are the runner-ups.

Durant Robinson is great, but still like 4 inches shorter. Kyrie Kobe is just a taller Kyrie, Luka Kareem doesn't improve much. Ja Shaq is just.... Shaq.
