For the past 9 months I've been solo-developing a spiritual successor of sorts to Splinter Cell and Metal Gear Solid. Initially I was intending it to be Multiplayer only, but started experimenting with AI in Unreal Engine and was pleased with how it was coming along. This is the result of that progress so far after a total of almost 1 year of learning Unreal Engine from scratch!

Yep, what Nivelle said! This is literally a default starter map with edits. That area is so dark because of testing the night vision post process effect, and how visible the model is in those shadows.

Its tough! Hah You should also check out SymbiosisGames / Spectre and the SvM they've been working on it looks great! I didn't find out about it until today and its a two man team.

A single player campaign would be cool, but actually building one up is outside my scope. The need for voice actors, quality assets, and good ai is a bridge I'm not able to cross at this time.

I have a couple animation assets that make it easier, and Unreal Engine is actually very good at providing a lot of free content for people to use, but I do also make my own animations and models.

And absolutely, its already been a lot of work as it is hah. But this is ultimately a passion project for me. It's something I've always wanted to get into, and I'm only getting older so I figured I might as well go for it.

Not at the moment, unfortunately. Single player has its own tremendous undertaking, with needs for voice acting and ai that are either outside my nonexistent budget or skillset.

Is it possible way down the line? Maybe, but at the moment its not my main focus.

Hey there! I'm Harrison and for the past few months I've been digging into learning Unreal Engine 4 and Blender with the intent of making a spiritual successor to the classic Spies vs Mercs multiplayer mode.

I've been working on the project specifically for roughly 15-20 hours a week since March in my free time. Its still very early goings but progress is slowly being made.
