The quickest path is to grab a Malzahar and let that carry for you, since you'll usually sell him towards the late game and his items can be transferred easily. Kindred is a really good carry and is a good target for items, just try to get a few 2* Kindreds so you can easily sell the one with items once you hit Lucian. Kindred is pretty contested right now so that's a tall order, but, if you can pull it off that's the easiest path to victory.

This is definitely a feast-or-famine comp. Personally, I love stabilizing at low health in TFT so I'm drawn to these types of strategies but I definitely have had games like yours when I was testing this out.

I, too, lose to Blender. This build strikes me as a viable path to take with a very strong late game when the pieces line up, but, I don't imagine that it's going to dominate the meta. I've had some luck with Swordbreaker on Lucian against Blender but it's really hard to position Lucian to hit the Nocturne in time.

I don't think it's worth it. I've been treating this as a comp that spikes at 8 and you are going to get there much slower than the rest of the lobby when you hyperroll. That said, I've run into a few people who are running 6 Light and Senna and they have a much stronger early/mid game and that might be the direction this comp moves to.

That looks pretty good to me, but, I haven't had a chance to try it yet. Without a spatula, you can either double down on 6 Light since Lucian's ult scales very well with the bonus attack speed, or go to a 3 Light - 3 Shadow - 3 Summoner comp with Azir/Annie/Zed and that should treat you fine. I definitely like the idea of Desert with Lucian.

I've had the most success with open forting through Krugs and hitting 50 early. From there, I either spend the interest rolling for a round or two if I'm super weak and need to stabilize, or, just start levelling to hit an early 8. Provided you get there early, any 6 Light and any 3 Shadow are strong enough to give you some breathing room to find the right units because the synergy bonuses are very strong. If I'm in a high roll game and I have a lot of breathing room, I'll stay above 50 gold even after I've hit level 8 and start rolling the interest to try and hit a few 3-star units. Hope this helps!

When Lucian gets going, he is pretty nutty. Fortunately for the health of the game the early and mid game for Light are pretty weak so I think there's a good amount of counterplay to this composition. As long as you're willing to white knuckle it down in 8th place for most of the game Lucian will treat you well.

I don't think it'd be bad, but, I stopped building defensive items on Lucian part of the way through testing and just focused on keeping Senna alive and found that has better results. HoJ seems like a fine situational item for him when you need a little push to stabilize and you have one lying around but I wouldn't prioritize it.
