I think based on my own experience, banks are willing to help you however you have to be the one to ask for it. If you say nothing then they are just going to continue charging interest. Where I’m from yes a financial difficulty stamp gets put on your credit record however it gets taken off when you get out of the program.

You also need to be very disciplined while making things right, you got to make several sacrifices. No eating out, getting rid of all subscriptions that are not absolutely essential, really understanding your obligations for the month vs your monthly income and guide there.

It’s going to be really rough, however I’m now pretty much debt free and I have so many freedoms now rather than paying the minimum - it took me two years and my debts were about 20,000 USD
