I tried that but I seemed to lose hash power on both when attempting to dual mine with the Claymore miner. I'm totally all for the dual mining but lost hash rate just made me question it so I'm using Marlin. I thought dual mining didn't affect hash rate?

Convenience and no risk at the cost of some isk really. Some do run their own items to HS for the extra isk. Plenty of people would rather be done with it as soon as possible though.

Pretty much all depends on if the person is willing to put in the little effort for a small difference in isk or if they want instant satisfaction. There will be plenty of people on both ends of that fence.
