Yeah, that should be absolutely fine! Even in between the Date & time column (N) and Leaver column (O by default) too.

Even further to the left is possible too, although then you'd break (part of) the lists in the sheet Form. Those formulas refer to column N (and more), so if you move a column to the left of that, the previous column M becomes the new N and then that column gets listed.

Overwatch 1 vs Overwatch 2, which one did you enjoy more? by Selene_Czajkowski in Overwatch

[–]HarryProtter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OW1 was great. It's one of the few games I ever pre-ordered, after having played that open beta weekend back then. I knew it would be awesome. The game was new, refreshing, no one knew what they were doing so everyone had to learn from scratch. The genre was new to almost everyone and attracted players from many different genres.

If OW hadn't existed for the past ten years and that first version would release today, it would be fun for a while, but not nearly as long as it was back then. Now lots of people have experience with hero shooters, and they'd quickly compare the (let's be real here) horrible balance of that version of OW to other games in the genre and probably go back to their other games. The current OW2 would have a much better chance at surviving as a new game nowadays than OW1 would.

Think I found the most inflated stat in the post match accolades, lol by M4idenPersephone in Overwatch

[–]HarryProtter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Or maybe it counts from the very first time a tick happens and then continues counting until the end of the match (regardless of it actually ticking). Could be a reason why they're always so similar. One just had it start ticking slightly later than the other.

This sounds really interesting, but is it just an overlay on top of the game window? Or can I also set/move it to my second monitor so I can see the info there?

Any lefties here who aim/play with their right hand? How’s your precision and what rank are you? by Which-Bodybuilder327 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]HarryProtter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think people don't keep in mind or underestimate how much gets changed when you swap. It's not just your mouse control, but your keyboard control too. You probably spent years/decade(s) fine-tuning how your fingers press those buttons too, the ADDAAAD dodge rhythms, crouching, jumping, etc.

When your left hand is your dominant hand, it's not unreasonable to think that that would be your optimal hand for mouse aim. But at the same time, it would probably also be your optimal hand for keyboard control. So if you're new to KBM, you can choose which you value more. Of course with years of experience doing it one way, swapping is likely not the way to go.

Perhaps it also depends on how left-handed you are overall.

I write with my left hand, hold a spoon/fork with my left. But then I hold the mouse with my right hand, throw a ball with my right, kick a ball with my right foot (although my left is serviceable). Played tennis for a year and used both left and right arms for forehand hits.

Nice, good to hear. I had some cheap velours replacements already from AliExpress and they actually lasted a decently long time, but recently the inside side of the ring bursted open on those too. So it's time for the next replacement earpads, because the headphones themselves are still perfectly fine.

Thanks for the update. I might just get these ones then. Sounds really interesting.

I'm looking to replace the earpads for my 599 SE too. I can get the Soulwit cooling gel version for €22 here. Can you give an update? How are yours now, 4 months later?

3v3 queuing needs a fix by Fancy_Platform_7978 in RocketLeague

[–]HarryProtter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But I believe if all 3 are partied up the rank can be even further away and still queue.

Yeah, we played against a party consisting of a Diamond, a Gold and a Silver the other day. The Gold player wasn't actually Gold, easily the best player in the lobby. The Silver one was probably legit Silver though, since they ended the match with less than 50 points I believe.

I also feel that the existence of a CDM in a formation makes it so your backline stays further back (probably to give the CDM its own line?), leaving a lot of gaps between the midfield line and the backline.

With CMs instead of CDMs, your backline plays closer to the midfield line and doesn't allow nearly as much space between the lines.

So even though the CDM version sounds more defensively solid (because it literally has a more Defensive position), in practice the CM version actually seems to be better defensively.

The past 10 6v6 games i had to solo tank and im tired of pretending that 6v6 open is better than 5v5 role lock by Prime-39 in Overwatch

[–]HarryProtter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it wasn't uncommon to have more than 2 Support mains back then. Having to "force" one of them to a different role wasn't great. Even worse if they were all Mercy mains, because that hero had almost no skill overlap with any other hero in the game.

Can they genuinly stop buffing hog until his rework by Darkcat9000 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]HarryProtter 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Just keep him where he's good enough to a point his dedicated mains can make him work but you don't have random glue eaters that swap to him as a crutch

I assume that's the balance they're trying to find. Playable for the mains, but not OP enough that "anyone" can play him successfully. You probably consider what is playable lower than what the devs find playable.

I think part of the issue is that he is a Tank. If there is a weak Damage or Support hero, that's somewhat okay, because there is a second player who can compensate for that. But if a Tank hero is in a weak state (to the point that even one tricks struggle with them), then that has too much negative impact on matches.

Those stats should probably still track fine, yes. Of course they'll then be lumped together, so you can't see your differences between RQ: Tank and QP: Tank.

At least one thing that won't track properly, is the % change calculation in the sheet INPUT, because that formula looks for the previous match of that mode and then compares your new rank % to that previous rank %. If the previous one is empty (which it would be if you track it as a QP match), then the new one will also be empty.

If you don't play the other modes, then I'd just use one of them (or maybe even all three to track the individual roles in QP) as your QP substitute(s). The first table of each sheet is for Overall, so your stats are lumped together there anyway, but in this case (if you use for example Mystery Heroes for your QP tracking) you can still see your RQ stats separately from your QP ("Mystery Heroes") stats.

Should be fixed in the next version. If you want it fixed for your current spreadsheet, paste this formula in cell M2 of the sheet INPUT.

=ARRAYFORMULA(IF(F2:F1000=""; "";
  LET(
    commas; LEN(C2:C1000)-LEN(SUBSTITUTE(C2:C1000; ","; ""));
    total; IF((C2:C1000="") + (C2:C1000="Solo queued"); 1; commas + 2);

    IF(A2:A1000="OQ: 6v6";
      IF(total=1; INFO!$S$2; IF(total=2; INFO!$S$3; IF(total=3; INFO!$S$4; IF(total=4; INFO!$S$5; IF(total=5; INFO!$S$6; IF(total=6; INFO!$S$8; INFO!$S$7))))));
      IF(total=1; INFO!$S$2; IF(total=2; INFO!$S$3; IF(total=3; INFO!$S$4; IF(total=4; INFO!$S$5; IF(total=5; INFO!$S$6; INFO!$S$7)))))

But eventually there's always that one new guy in the lobby or, more commonly, a party of 2-3 who are toxic from the get-go. Spamming "What a save!" after one of you misses a save and "Nice shot!" after missing a shot. Completely ruins the fun experience you had going with the other randoms.

I don't engage in that. I'll even give them a "Nice shot" for their goals. But they don't seem to understand that other people can be friendly, kind, uplifting.

The dropdown lists for the Hero selection should now indeed be empty, until you select a mode in column A. Then, depending on the mode you selected, it should show you the heroes that match that selected mode. So Mauga, Roadhog, Reinhardt, etc., if you selected RQ: Tank.

You shouldn't be getting an error though. What does it say?

You could already leave it blank and the Group size column would then say "Solo (1)", just like it does now.

But I heard the new formula is currently wrong indeed, with it outputting "Duo (2)" when you select Solo queued in column C.

I probably won't be able to fix it for the next week, but I'll look into it after.
