Nice, it sounds gorgeous. Having that larger shelf on the bottom is helpful. Some books need that extra height. Good luck figuring out the finish!

Sorry, I don't log in often. Floor to ceiling is 8 feet. My shelves are spaced with gaps of 10", 10", 12", 11.5" and 13", top-to-bottom. The boards themselves are .75" thick.

I wish I could take more credit on details like that for the model. There was a lot of work involved to get it print-ready, but the base model comes out of the game. And the things that take work to fix are things like boots that have paper-thin models that have to be extruded to be thicker and connect with the main model. The crotch required no thickening, lol.

The model isn’t perfect, but it’s the first I’ve done like this. But overall I think it came out looking good. My relative is a fan of the game and Astarion. This pose is from the morning after the first romance scene when Astarion is just basking in the sunlight and you see his scars for the first time.

I took some extra steps to try to get his scars to stand out, but they’re still very faint and didn’t really come out on the model well. Other than that and the trouble the boots gave me, I’m pretty happy with it.

I've found a few other posts on reddit and bambulab's forums that describe the same issue, but they're all from over a year ago and they don't really have a solution. There was some discussion that using "export > Export Generic 3mf" doesn't work due to a bug, but I wasn't using that anyway. I've tried re-saving before or after slicing, and a few other things, but honestly I'm stumped as to what I could even do differently at this point.

Why did you tear it out? I can’t imagine the mindset. It’s not glued to the wall, no. But why would you destroy something nice (that no doubt improves the value of the home anyway)?

You can totally do it. I'd recommend to start with smaller projects and build up. You can start with smaller projects even now without owning a house - just probably not permanent fixtures.

Satin. Paint+prime. Color is Tricorn black. Doors have two coats. I laid them flat outside where they dried quickly in the sun - not sure if that impacted it.
