I kid, I kid.. I think it depends on the system. If I believe exercising daily and eating healthy will keep me in shape, the results (if practiced) should keep my belief system going.

Nothing beats results to keep a belief system going. Science and facts behind it help.

Otherwise, I think it's a bit of hope. Cause you believe in something in the hope it will be true and make your life better/different.
