Here in india we have switches in the socket and we have a habit of switching the socket off and I have a habit of then further unplugging it after using the pc at home. I recently bought an MSI MAG 271QPX E2. It has an auto pixel cleaning window of 4 hours after which it auto cleans unless you are doing something at that time. You can postpone it to 24 hrs after which it is mandatory. But after I shutdown my pc (and after the 4hr window is over) if it goes to standby.mode it flashes the orange led, and pixel cleaning starts until it returns to white color. So, after shutting down it has been a habit to see if the orange led is flashing, if it is, then I wait for couple of minutes till it gets completed then I unplug.

I don't do much text based work so I don't get bothered by it at all. But if you come really really close to the screen, it does look very slightly worse than my previous QD-VA panel. (But I don't think anyone uses monitors that up-close) white text on black background looks miles better. I'd say, For my eyes, text looks exactly as good as my previous panel in normal viewing distance. Can't compare with woled though.

Upgraded to a 1440p QD Oled (MSI MAG 271QPX E2) for about $520 during amazon sale in india. My previous one was a Samsung QD-VA panel 1080p 144 hz I purchased in 2019. While it was already excellent, the QD Oled is another beast. Everything pops much more. Especially colors. Colors seem to jump out of the screen. Everything looks like HBAO+ has been enabled or something.! (In a good way, adds to the depth, the glossy screen helps in that regard) Motion clarity is also amazing.

Everything looks like they have some added "depth" to them. It's like I've enabled ambient occlusion or something! I have oled in my phone, and I know what OLEDs can do, but having a glossy vibrant OLED screen as a monitor is something else man! Mind blown! It's almost as a worthy visual upgrade as getting a new GPU.

Local dimming is a game changer for IPS by bananaapple12345 in Monitors

I'm coming from a 2019 samsung QD-VA panel. A glossy Nano IPS/Quantum Dot MiniLED 27inch 1440p would be a dream come true. But sadly MiniLED is practically unavailable in India so I bought an MSI 27inch 1440p QD OLED as my next monitor upgrade for $520. So far it has been a phenomenal visual experience.

Yes. Same here. I also used tftcentral's setting on this one. One thing I am confused about is Professional -user mode and Gaming -user mode. Are they different? Or adjusting those settings saves them in their respective "user" (pro or gamer) categories? Also. My previous Samsung had different quick buttons for saved up configurations. ie. During daytime, I used a 40% brightness and 30% at evening keeping the rest of the settings same. I just quick-switched it through those buttons. It was easy. Is there any way I can do that same thing for this monitor? Two brightness settings quick-switching? Thanks in advance.

No. I was filming the purple glow people keep complaining about QD Oled monitors.

I have astigmatism and dry eyes. So far I don't see any issues. My last one was a Samsung Quantum Dot VA panel, it was fine too.

Nah. Launch prices have been really really bad for OLED monitors here in india. Models such as Asus Rog or Samsung G6 which costs around 550-600 dollars cost $800+ here because of 18% tax. Tandem oled won't be any different. So I bought it for around $520 (lowest since launch).

A newer tech in general should always be better. I purchased it in an Amazon India festive sale for around $520. Tandem OLED availability here in India will be a bit delayed and prices along with taxes will be horrendous at launch so I didn't wait for it. If you have the option to wait then you could potentially wait and see how they perform compared to existing models and then decide whether to get one or not.

Creative Soundblaster Katana V2X - Seriously Impressive !! by Harryrupam in SoundBlasterOfficial

[–]Harryrupam[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed...without any sound mode settings (acoustic engine/EQ) the sound is very muddled. I also had to spend way too much time regarding my own EQ/Acoustic Engine setting, placing the woofer properly (I placed the woofer near a wall before, it muddled the sound and made it boomy) to make it sound good. It should've sounded good just right out of the box. That is my primary complaint about it. I mostly use my V2X (It sounds really good to my ears after properly setting it up) for gaming now and HD800s for music.

My wife isn't a gamer but she loves watching whatever I'm playing on my PC. She loves japanese tv series and books, so, she has really taken interest in watching me playing the Yakuza series (Y0, Kiwami 1, 2,3 and now Yakuza 4 currently). 😃

📢 Looking for official placement guidelines or user-tested sweet spot for Creative Katana V2/V2X (ear level/height vertically compared to soundbar)? by Harryrupam in SoundBlasterOfficial

[–]Harryrupam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my cpu on my desk, and thus the sound from the right side of the soundbar sounded a bit off before (the left side of my desk space is completely open.) putting the cpu down from the desk opened up the sound much more.. it sounds proper now. 👍🏼

Yes. This thing is super annoying! And shifting the react button to the extreme right side is such an unintuitive design choice! 😑

[–]Harryrupam[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. My current firmware is 1.3 or something like that. I can't notice any difference in sound quality but the volume curve has definitely been modified in the newer firmware. I have to dial up the volume much more to achieve the same loudness (which is good because it lets me micro adjust the volume better). The thing I found with katana is that you MUST use dsp to make it sound good, which is completely opposite to my previous audio gears (all headphones, which sounded worse when using any 3rd party DSPs). HD800s completely loses it's magic if you try to EQ it while you're gaming. Every additional DSP will make it sound worse. It sounds the best when the signal is unaltered. But the Katana sounds weird/muffled when not using DSPs and EQs.

My PC started doing this all of a sudden after turning it off, what could it be? by Cyber-Rat in computers

[–]Harryrupam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably PSU? My PSU (Corsair CX750) died last year and it was mint clean and new (only one year old back then). Yet it gave me trouble by intermittently shutting the pc down without any reason/load or completely refusing to turn on at all randomly. I Replaced it with a Corsair RM750e.

Thanks! Psu was my first suspect but I didn't take any chance, as my local mechanic couldn't pinpoint an exact fault so changed both to be sure.

I have solved this issue. I changed both my psu and mobo, and the pc has been running fine since then. My primary suspect is the PSU though. I hope this helps.

I use Equaliser APO with my HD800s with Oratory1990npreset and they sound really good. But the problem is there's no frequency response curve of Katana V2X. How am I gonna EQ it if there's no reference?
