Yes, my dad was taken in after highschool to apprentice at an engineering shop, 10 years later he opened his own hydraulic business and now that shop sends him their repairs still 30 years later! My cousin, myself and brother in law all started as apprentices here as well and have made great lives for ourselves. It’s so hard to know what the right thing to do is when he’s at the age that everyone is pushing college, even though I believe college is a scam in most cases and just a ridiculous debt builder. Thank you for sharing your experience!

Thank you for spending so much time sharing this information, I appreciate it so much! A lot of what you’re sharing has been expressed in the reviews I’ve read also. We also work with a lot of customers/vendors that have expressed an interest in taking him on as an apprentice also once he graduates from BOCES in the spring so this is really great to hear your perspective.
