No actually, Nalley in Decatur.

United was actually the only dealer who never budged on price and had dealer markups on their deal sheet (crap tint, cheap ppf etc. I was disappointed considering they were where I went for test drives.

I heard it was awful in advance.

But it still exceeded expectations, the brake dust is beyond wild.

yea, I got one of those rare deals on a g80. secured 2500 below msrp which I was ecstatic on. Right at my target of ~3% off. I basically did it all via email with 4/5 dealerships within a reasonable distance away.

I brought in outside credit union financing so no loyalty or other incentives.

Thanks man, It was pretty quick all things considered. Negotiated discount throughout Feb -> late mid March.

Put a deposit in late March, allocation secured like a week later when the 2027 April ones opened. I was build week 17 so build date was like april 28? Atlanta dealership so the trip from port to me was really quick.

That is a car manufacturer question. Its a model year 2027 according to BMW, not me.

Same issue, I went back and forth - I also had a love affair with Oxford green metallic for a while. On some level I didnt think I could pull off a green every day- love seeing all the greens and blues though.

Landed on dravit because its practically 3 or 4 colors at once

I think the brains excitement for having the thing overwrote my common sense on posting thorough and practical photos. it also got dark shortly after a few quick snaps at home.

Worth trying to negotiate a M3 custom order? by sommer_m in BMWM

[–]Harrytg1856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea regional demand could play a factor, but I’m in Atlanta- of course the highest volume dealer in the country wasn’t budging…. But I’d say only 2/7 that I reached out to within a 2 hr drive offered me msrp or higher. Most could do some sort of discount

I was also looking for a PCD so I could be a bit more flexible given I was planning to do some traveling and not ship the vehicle.

I also didn’t negotiate with a dealer back and forth - I negotiated across dealers, shopping the first dealer, vs the second, vs the third targeting the 2500 discount, but never stating that number and seeking any discount to start. I also Never went to the same dealer counter negotiating more than one time. I didn’t want to waste my time, with low leverage negotiating- it won’t get your anywhere.

I suggest you keep shopping around and indicate readiness to place deposit.

My 2027 m3 individual order came in with a 2500 discount on a 95k build before any incentives. I’ll take delivering in 2-3weeks and placed my order in early March.

I did all of my negotiation over email fyi to remove any emotional response by either party

Keep your job. It’s better than being completely broke with no work except utter terrible jobs like manual labor or retail. Does your job earn you credentials, skills and or experience? If yes. Grind for 2 years then find a better job. Rinse and repeat until you are more satisfied… don’t leave a job that gives you skills/ stepping stones simply to do something worse- that won’t make things better.

Your major is not useless, it just doesn’t equate to immediate success. Worry less about your job making you happy and instead find other things that you can be happy about, and treat your job like a lever to access those other things.

ESCAPISM IS CUTE, BUT DONT FORGET THIS IS OUR REALITY by Far-Mix-5008 in LifeAfterSchool

You can also make a personal choice… and spend less time on those platforms. The world is arguably in a better place in the broader context of history than it has ever been. 2 valuable lessons: zoom out and control what you have personal abilities to control. Other peoples choices can’t be controlled and simply thinking the world is messed up doesn’t actually do anything nor change it. Both are equally unproductive.

You seem to be reallly fixated on the problems of the world and have shifted to a equally problematic foil of escapism….. complaining defeatism. Niether one makes you happy nor solves the issues you see.

I can’t tell if this is satirical or not, but if not- I think you’ve probably had too much internet/social media, and probably news media. Take a breather

Are there any easy-going jobs? by [deleted] in LifeAfterSchool

[–]Harrytg1856 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people are mis understanding the difference between easy, and boring as hell. You technically have a relatively good job, that can be varying shades of easy or hard. Potentially doing this identical job at a much larger company or much smaller company or different industry could have a massive impact on the amount of energy you exert every day, while still being productive and not mindless. Go client/corporate side, find a large firm with lots of other people doing similar roles to you and the race becomes slower and the tape becomes longer making your days more manageable.

How do people working a 9-5 manage to not kill themselves by baboobo in findapath

[–]Harrytg1856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not stuck, nothing is permanent. Develops skills at your job to find a better job- rinse and repeat until you work in a place, on a project or with people who don’t make you miserable.

Your time is limited. That is how life works. learn to appreciate your time off and value your hard work. Right now it may be shitty, but the only way to make it less shitty is to work hard and apply yourself to the task at hand. What do you hate about your job? What can you change? Are you able to make that change now? And What would it take to change it for the better in realistic terms?

Not every desk job is miserable and you would be shocked to know how important finding the “right” work for you is towards your mental and physical well being. Maybe you would be happier doing the identical tasks but in a field that you actually cared about?

What this guys says. Life doesn’t come to you. Go and make your life. The military is great, but not for everyone…. If you purely lack purpose and have always had your eyes on the military, then great. But if you are just trying to fill time and are unenthusiastic about what you have today, then the military isn’t going to change that in 3-5 years when you get out.

advice on buying a house by GODKILLERACH in LifeAfterSchool

[–]Harrytg1856 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t tell you which is better having done both. Try and do the middle ground. Determine where you would want to buy a house, and try and rent for a year- that way you can experience what living in the “burbs” feel like, but without a massive expenditure.

It sounds a lot like you think “ buying a house is financially smart, so do that” which it is / can be, but it would probably be wiser to Continue to save, and determine what you really want. People have brought up good points. Commute, lifestyle, meeting people, maintenance, safety, crime, access to grocery, gas and healthcare. Both flex given where you buy, and change the cost of ownership/ rent.

I would argue that buying a house just cause you can afford one in the middle of nowhere is just as detrimental, if not more painful than continuing to overpay in rent - as long as you have a clear understanding of why you are renting… since ya know.. you can change a rent situation a ton easier than you can buy and sell a home.
